13 Reasons Why

We can all agree that very few characters got what they deserved in the final episode of Netflix’s controversial teen drama. (To name a few examples: not only should Justin still be alive, but a handful of his pals should definitely be behind bars.) That said, the impressive performances — particularly those from Dylan Minnette and Brandon Flynn — went a long way to salvage the otherwise frustrating hour.
Empire is not listed. Will that be listed with an actual grade or a TBD if the show runners finally release details of the intended finale?
the 100 getting the lowest grade…. i feel validated and seen.
Sad that The 100 had the worst rating even it’s final season was bad when it was so good for all seasons expect that final one but I’m glad they finally got to a happy place
In what world does The Good Place NOT get an A+??. While I agree with your W&G grade, the Season gets an F!
I’m just glad some of these actually got finales. And I really wish God Friended Me could have been saved.
The Good Place and Homeland had the best finales from the shows I watch, so I am glad they were given great scores. Also liked the endings of How to get away with Murder (but yes, Bonnie in particular deserved better), and Criminal Minds.
I am in agreement with the grades for several… especially the A for AoS and A- for Schitt’s Creek. I am not sure about the B for HTGAWM. it felt more C level to me.
I think the penultimate episode of Supernatural should have been the finale.
The genius perfection of the Good Place gets an A- …. and Supernatural gets a B???? If Supernatural was a B, then we need to invent four letter grades above an A for The Good Place. Supernatural was at least as bad as The 100. At least.
“The grades chosen reflect how each TV show did (or did not) stick the landing based on their respective runs.”
How was Olicity’s ending a romantic one? For me Felicity killed herself and abandoned her kids to be with Oliver. Kind of crappy on her part IMO.
And with HTGAWM I felt even though I loved Frank and Bonnie, their deaths were deserved in a way. Both were killers.
Yep, Frank and Bonnie got what they deserved.
I didn’t realize how many shows I watched ended. I did like Modern Family, H50, Fuller House and HTGAWM (I do think frank and Bonnie got what they deserved tho.) Schitts Creek was really good only small complaint was I hoped Alexis would wind up with Ted. And Honeland I hated. I get that Carrie was Sauls spy but I didn’t like how Yevgeny got away scot free.
I did like the Blindspot finale and I know the writers intended for an interpretive finale but how can you explain when Jane was zipped up in the body bag? She definitely died and the other scene was her dream as she was fading away.
I was very happy with the finales for SUPERNATURAL, SCHITT’S CREEK, ARROW, and HTGAWM. I’m of the mind that Frank and Bonnie’s deaths were not what they “deserved,” but rather, that both were far too broken to build a better life if they had lived. I try to think of them as finally being at peace.
Agree w /the HTGAWM comment! I too like the finale also The Good Place & Schitt’s Creek.
I would have given Supernatural an A-. I’m still not over the Barn scene. It was so beautifully done and Jared and Jensen did amazing in it. The show started with the brothers and ended with them…perfect bookends.
Oh wow, I would’ve given Schitt’s Creek an A!!! That finale was a perfect ending to a perfect show.
Bonnie and Frank deserved to die considering they’ve killed for no legitimate reason… I was satisfied with HTGAWM’s ending as the most pressing matter was whether Annalise survived the major blowout.
I still think the best series finale of the year was on The Boys (and yes, I know it’s coming back, but that finale was great closure for everything that happened so far)
I might’ve bumped the “Criminal Minds” finale up to a B, myself-I agree with some of the issues regarding appearances and whatnot, but I still liked the way the team got to say goodbye.
.
But I do agree with the “Will & Grace” and HTGAWM grades. I was especially satisfied with the latter-I thought it brought just the right kind of closure for the characters.
Personally, I would have given Blindspot a “D”. I really hated it. A lot. I felt cheated of a satisfying ending for characters I had learned to love over the years.
Schitt’s Creek was one of the best shows ever. I full on ugly cried during that finale.
What about Star Wars the Clone Wars?
“…we did not grade every single series finale from the past year…”
