Current status: Series co-creator/star Aziz Ansari, who during this prolonged break was the subject of sexual misconduct allegations, said in June 2017 that he prefers not to rush the process, but hopes to continue Dev's story — though that might not be until "years from now."
"We would be happy to make another season when Aziz is ready," Netflix programming chief Cindy Holland said in July 2018.

The series will instead conclude with a movie-length musical titled The Transparent Musicale Finale, which is poised for a fall 2019 release. It has been described as "really, truly special" by Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke. "It does everything that you would want it to do."
