Legends of Tomorrow fan here! Any scoop on Lisseth Chavez’s Rookie debut? –Claire
Chavez first appears this Sunday as Celina, a new rookie whose unconventional approach to police work will pose a unique challenge for her training officer — meaning, Nolan. “I’ve been saying from the very beginning, ‘How do you keep it The Rookie?'” as Nolan graduates to T.O., says showrunner Alexi Hawley. “But he is going to become the oldest rookie training officer, right? And it won’t go great at first. He’ll have a rookie that’s very challenging to him and who will have him on his heels. With any new job, things come at you 100 mph. It’s just different.”
What casino was The Rookie‘s Season 5 premiere filmed in? –Jim
That was the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Cabazon, Calif. And if there was any doubt it was an actual casino, you saw showgirls in feathered headdresses strolling outside. As they apparently do!
Please settle an argument. We are avid fans of Blue Bloods who never miss an episode, and we’ve noticed that someone says “forthwith” in every episode. It’s a bit of an unusual word but I love the “old fashioned,” grounded roots of the show. Is that a running joke with the writers? –Laura
As much as I love a highly specific Inside Line question, the people I bring them to tend to love them even more. Take Blue Bloods boss Kevin Wade, who let out the heartiest of laughs when I relayed your theory, before saying it is “absolutely not” any sort of joke within the writers’ room. “We used to use [forthwith] a lot in the early, early seasons, because it’s an incredibly arcane NYPD thing that’s actually still used. We were always like, ‘Nooo, some guy on the street with a cup of coffee and a donut is saying, ‘Yeah, do that forthwith?’ We use it occasionally, but this reader is perhaps thinking we use it more than we do. I think I would know, because it always bumps a little for me when I hear it, then I go, ‘Alright, it’s authentic — leave it.'”

Are you guys going to have anything station 19 or Greys related ?
Ask “the guys” a question about those shows and perhaps they will answer in print. I believe that’s how it works.
Ooh, the question about Mayfair Witches (looking forward to it!) reminded me to e-mail my request for Interview With The Vampire scoop! Already obsessed with that show.
.
Really hope that we’re being teased with the wording about Buck, because if they put him a throuple, my head will explode (it would also be a funny/sad testament that they’d rather do *that* than put him with Eddie).
First thought – Buck’s old friend will want Buck to be a ‘donor’ so the couple can have a child. And we know how much Buck loves kids so ….
Paula, I think that you’re spot on – I could see him consider it because he wants to help/make people happy, but he’ll experience angst when he realizes that he wouldn’t actually be able to be a father to the child. I’ve seen that theory picking up steam on Twitter (but not as much as the throuple suggestion, which means that I clearly spend too much time on that hellsite 😂 Was mainly joking about all that because I’ve watched since the beginning and seen SO many relationships/types of shipping, but I can’t imagine that they’d truly go there).
Well, maybe that gives him a moment of reflection.
He can see that he can be attracted to the same sex and that might lead to him looking at Eddie in a new light. 🥰
😬😬
It’s weird Michael Curry will not be part of the Mayfair Witches TV series. He’s a major character.
Seriously! This is … deeply odd. Unless they’re simply focusing on the backstory and Rowan this season, then working Curry in later? I don’t see how that’d work, though. He’s kind of crucial to the plot.
He’s the main love interest for the heroine. It’s total nonsense that they wouldn’t have him in the show.
After Interview with the Vampire got an early renewal I assume they probably don’t want to quick burn through the source material and will take their time with these shows
Except Curry is in it from the beginning, at least in the “present day” section, same as Rowan, so … I don’t know how this is gonna work. We’ll see I guess.
I read elsewhere that the Ciprien Grieve character draws somewhat from Michael’s story. It’s a big risk they’re taking, to diverge so much from the books.
Is the girl in the Rookie picture above the same actress that was in Chicago PD and then simply disappeared with no explanation?
Yep. That’s her.
Yes it is! She left Chicago PD to join Legend’s, and now that Legend’s has ended she has now join the Rookie
She was most likely fired from Chicago PD/her contract wasn’t renewed. She said it wasn’t her choice.
I was hoping for an update about Powerpuff
You should ask them. That’s how this column works.
I’ve asked more than once, but it didn’t make the cut either time.
Do you want it fast or do you want it right?
I want it correct. I guess my hype level is through the roof.
Any word on the status of my favorite British shows? Specifically, will Line of Duty, Vigil and Ten Percent have another season?
Not sure about line of duty or ten percent, but vigil did get renewed for a second season.
“Forthwith” may not be a running joke but “copy that” has to be. For the past ten years, it’s been on multiple network shows, not just cop shows. I’ve assumed that it is a running joke across writers rooms.
It’s not a joke, it’s a real-life standard response to receiving information via radio. “Copy” means “heard” in radio jargon.
NYC emergency services definitely still use “forthwith” all the time… “need a bus forthwith to blah blah blah address” is radio speak for send an ambulance ASAP
Sort of like “I got your six” has been in every cop, fire, military-type show for the last several years. It’s worn out, writers.
Is there any news about a new season for Blood and Treasure? I just finished watching the latest season and really enjoyed it. I was hoping Paramount+ will bring the series back for another season or 2!!

Chicago P.D.-what happen to vioghts boss (black lady chief)+is Voight ever going to have a love interest or ever see his grandson
Lindsey Morgan is sorely missed on Walker. The show is just not as good without her. Walker’s new partner is blah. I try but simply have no interest in the character whatsoever.
I really miss Lindsey Morgan, too, but the new character is wonderful in her own right. Can’t wait for Walker to return.
I’m just grateful that Aldis Hodge is participating at all. It feels like a special gift he’s giving to us fans.
Shouldn’t you find a writer for your CW pilot BEFORE you start working on the script.. yet alone the “second draft”?
I think it was his way of saying it’s a script that has been worked on by multiple people. So when they get a writer signed up they’ll likely make some revisions and changes before its finalised and submitted. If it reaches TV form it’ll probably have ‘story by, teleplay by’ credits.
More than likely, since it’s now mostly a Nexstar owned network with CW doing a little input, who the heck knows what will be accepted for that network? Nexstar is intent upon unscripted series (meaning, cheap reality crap), and there’s not a whole lot of confidence about what else is left of the CW that will remain anymore.
Hey Matt! Can you down on what is in store for Discovery’s crew this season? Will Tilly still be a regular now that she isn’t on the ship?
She wasn’t a regular, and wasn’t on the ship, last season. Soooo….
