Ratings: Bachelorette Ties The Voice Performance Finale for Monday Win

The Season 12 premiere of The Bachelorette tied NBC’s The Voice for the Monday demo win, scoring a 2.0 rating to go with its 6.6 million viewers (per finals) — numbers down just a smidgen from the dating contest’s previous opener (7.1 mil/2.1).

Opening ABC’s night, Dancing With the Stars (12.3 mil/1.9) ticked up 6 percent and two tenths and hit a 6-week high in audience, but was down 9 percent and two tenths from its previous performance finale.

Elsewhere in the ratings….

NBC | The Voice (10.3 mil/2.0) added a few eyeballs week-to-week yet dipped to match its Monday low for this cycle; the performance finale was also down sharply from both last season (14 mil/3.2) and a year ago (11.3 mil/2.6). Blindspot‘s freshman finale (5.9 mil/1.3, average TVLine reader grade “A-“) delivered a 10-week high in audience while steady in the demo.

FOX | Gotham closed Season 2 with 3.6 mil/1.2 (and an average grade of “B”), dipping week-to-week and down 20 and 29 percent from its freshman finale. Houdini & Doyle (2.6 mil/0.6) ticked down a tenth.

THE CW | Reign (950K/0.3) is looking at its best audience since May 2, while steady in the demo. Whose Line returned to 1.3 mil/0.4 and 1.5 mil/0.4, matching Jane the Virgin‘s finale rating while drawing 44 percent more viewers.

CBS | Leading out of the first of three reality TV-themed Price Is Right specials (6.2 mil/1.3), The Odd Couple closed Season 2 with 4.5 mil/1.0 and 4.5 mil/0.9, both eps down from a week ago. Person of Interest (5.5 mil/0.9) was steady week-to-week.

Don’t know how long Price is Right (TV’s longest running game show) will end because of three reasons – 1. got renewed 2. winning the Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Game Show (second in the Drew Carey era first in 2013) and 3. better bring back the Million Dollar Spectacular (haven’t been on in eight years)
