Those of you who swooned, back at the beginning of Outlander‘s first season, when Jamie recited his family’s motto in French are gonna be in heaven 36 seconds into this interview.
Because that’s when star Sam Heughan busts out just un peu of the language skills he’s been practicing in advance of Season 2, which finds Jamie and Claire living in France.
Heughan — along with co-star Caitriona Balfe, series creator Ronald D. Moore and author Diana Gabaldon, on whose books the series is based — visited TVLine’s Comic-Con interview suite at the Hard Rock Hotel to talk about the Frasers’ adventures abroad, including Claire’s burgeoning pregnancy.
Balfe’s fake baby bump is “great fun to poke,” Heughan jokes. The pair also laughed about the dynamic between Jamie’s time-traveling wife and Annalise de Marillac, Jamie’s old flame whom he encounters again in Versailles.
“Are you saying you’re bored of me?” Balfe teased her co-star.
Finally, try as he might, Michael Ausiello couldn’t get Moore to confirm whether or not the second season will follow the structure of its source material, Dragonfly in Amber.
“It’s nice to preserve a little bit of the mystery for even people who have read the book,” Moore said.
