Bravo Sets Date for Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, Orders Two New Series

Girlfriends Guide to Divorce Premiere DateBravo has finally scored a date with House alum Lisa Edelstein, setting a premiere for Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.

The cabler’s first original scripted series — which is inspired by the eponymous Vicki Iovine novels and counts Marti Noxon among its exec producers — will bow Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 10/9c, Bravo announced Monday at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour.

Girlfriends’ Guide follows Abby, a self-help author who publicly separates from her “perfect” husband (Private Practice‘s Paul Adelstein) and begins navigating life as a single woman. The cast also includes Janeane Garofalo, Beau Garrett (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior), Necar Zadegan (Emily Owens M.D.) and guest star Laverne Cox (Orange Is the New Black).

Among Bravo’s other TCA summer tour announcements:

* Million Dollar Listing has been renewed for Season 4, while the franchise is set to expand with a San Francisco edition.

* Series orders were given to the unscripted Secrets & Wives (which follows a tight-knit, ultra-wealthy group of friends and frenemies) and There Goes the Motherhood (in which parenting expert Jill Spivack counsels a high-end “mommy and me” group in Los Angeles).

* Southern Charm will return for Season 2.

    Three weeks before Christmas seems like an odd time to launch a show.

      Launching it on a Friday is what’s weirdest to me! I thought they would try build this into a big success but putting it behind Real Housewives of Atlanta or something. Not just putting it out on it’s own.
