What to Watch Wednesday: The Middle Dabbles in Pawn, Barrowman on Arrow, Top Chef and More
On TV this Wednesday: Pawn Stars proprietor Rick Harrison finds himself stuck in The Middle with Sue (as well as fellow guest star Jane Kaczmarek), Captain Jack dresses up for Arrow, Top Chef gets chopping on its 10th season and the South Park kids mess with the presidential election. 8 pm Survivor: Philippines (CBS) | Per CBS, tonight’s Tribal Council is when stuff starts getting real.
8 pm Arrow (The CW) | After his arrest for murder, Oliver wants Laurel to represent him – awkward — and a polygraph question about who else was on the island triggers a flashback to getting his first scar from Deathstroke (guest star Jeffrey Robinson). 8 pm The Middle (ABC) | Frankie has a rough first day of dental-assistant school, thanks to her tough teacher (Malcolm in the Other Middle’s Jane Kaczmarek); hoping for big bucks, Sue and Brick bring an expensive item to a local pawn shop (manned by guest star Rick Harrison of History Channel’s Pawn Stars).
9 pm Criminal Minds (CBS) | A rash of prostitutes killed in the same manner as mutilated animals makes the BAU think an UnSub’s confidence is on the rise. Matthew Lillard (Scream) guest-stars.
9 pm Modern Family (ABC) | Cheers‘ Shelley Long returns as Jay’s ex, Dede, whom he tries to usher out of the house before she learns that Gloria is expecting. Elsewhere, family lawyer Mitchell accompanies Phil and Claire to the police station when Hayley is arrested for underage drinking.
10 pm Top Chef (Bravo) | Season 10 premiere: 21 chefs are challenged in kitchens belonging to the series’ judges: Tom Colicchio, Emeril Lagasse, Hugh Acheson and new addition Wolfgang Puck.
10 pm CSI (CBS) | When his son Charlie’s basketball coach dies, Russell is drawn into the investigation. Family Ties‘ Michael Gross guest-stars as president of Charlie’s school.
10 pm Chicago Fire (NBC) | Casey gets all shouty with Voight, and it doesn’t end well (watch a preview); when Severide’s injured arm gives out during a rescue, he asks an old flame/pharmaceutical rep for help.
10 pm South Park (Comedy Central) | Season finale: Hmm… Did Cartman have something to do with the results of last night’s election?
