What to Watch Sunday: The Good Wife Defends Amanda Peet, Revenge Trades Vows and More
On TV this Sunday: Amanda Peet guest-stars as The Good Wife‘s Josh Charles takes his first turn behind the camera, The Cleveland Show gets a good rap(per), Revenge fauxs a wedding and some very talented women prove that Black Girls Rock. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 10 programs to keep on your radar. Reminder: Make sure you’ve adjusted your clocks for daylight savings time so you don’t miss anything.
7:30 pm The Cleveland Show (Fox) | In the official Season 4 premiere, Cleveland confronts his now famous old pal Kenny West (voiced by rapper Kanye West) about not sharing credit for the megahit they wrote together, “Be-Cleve In Yourself.” Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Late Night‘s ?uestLove and Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am also guest-voice themselves. (Note: This episode was preempted from an earlier date.)
8 pm Black Girls Rock 2012 (BET) | Achievements made by women of color are honored at a gala featuring performances by Missy Elliott, India.Arie, Alicia Keys and others. Scandal‘s Kerry Washington and Dionne Warwick are among those scheduled to appear.
8:30 pm Bob’s Burgers (Fox) | Tonight’s episode (also bumped from its originally scheduled airdate) finds Bob firing his kids in order for them to have a normal summer vacation. “They kind of hate it,” series creator Loren Bouchard previews for TVLine, adding that the Belcher kids find a job at a marijuana farm run by hippies (voiced by Parks and Recreation‘s Nick Offerman and Will & Grace‘s Megan Mullally). Meanwhile, Saturday Night Live‘s Bill Hader returns to voice Mickey the bank robber. (Watch a sneak peek!)
9 pm Revenge (ABC) | Conrad and Victoria put on a sham vow-renewal ceremony (check out photos of the lavish bash!) while Emily and Amanda try to stay one step ahead of the sleazy Mason Treadwell. Yup, sounds like just another Sunday night in the Hamptons.
9 pm Dexter (Showtime) | Dexter becomes more intrigued by Hannah – hmm, wonder what Deb would think of that? – and LaGuerta digs even deeper into the Bay Harbor Butcher case.
9:30 pm* The Good Wife (CBS) | Amanda Peet (Studio 60) kicks off her arc as a military officer accusing a civilian contractor of trying to rape her in Afghanistan. Brian Dennehy (The Fighting Fitzgeralds) guest-stars as the contractor’s lawyer, in an episode that marks cast member Josh Charles’ directorial debut. (*Tonight’s CBS start times are adjusted because of a football double-header earlier in the day.)
10 pm Homeland (Showtime) | Just as Brody agrees to help Carrie and Quinn prevent an attack on America, his loyalties are tested.
10 pm 666 Park Avenue (ABC) | Neither the cops nor Henry really believes Jane’s account of what happened to her at the Halloween party, which might be what star Rachael Taylor was hinting at when she told TVLine that the young lovers’ relationship “could potentially fall apart.” That’s too bad, because she’ll likely need someone to lean on tonight as she pieces together how she’s connected to The Drake’s history.
10 pm Treme (HBO) | It’s Carnival time! Janette seeks council from TV chef Emeril Lagasse and deconstructs crawish etoufée with Today weatherman Al Roker; Annie sits in with the Neville Brothers at the Washington, D.C. Mardi Gras Ball. (Get news on the final season.)
10:30 pm* The Mentalist (CBS) | The team investigates the kidnapping of a couple (half of which is played by Covert Affairs‘ Anne Dudek) that might be victims of mistaken identity, and Jane continues to look into Lorelei’s whereabouts.
