What to Watch Tuesday: Happy Endings' Hard Bargain, Private Practice Postponed and More

Get More: Previews, What to Watch

On TV this Tuesday: Raising Hope might be into dudes – not that there’s anything wrong with that. Also, hurricane coverage means Private Practice will be back after the election, tough negotiations probably won’t lead to Happy Endings and get your costumes ready for a Hart of Dixie Halloween. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 10 programs to keep on your radar tonight.

PREVIEW | NCIS Boss Promises a ‘Fantastic’ Meeting Between Leroy Jethro and… Leroy Jethro

8 pm Hart of Dixie (The CW) | Yes, Zoe, it is almost Halloween. But no, the force moving stuff around in your house isn’t a ghost: It’s probably just a sleepwalking George. (Check out some sneak peek photos.) The Newsroom‘s Kelen Coleman guest-stars.

8 pm Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars (ABC) | We-eee! are never ever going to be able to get Taylor Swift’s new single out of our heads, especially not after she – and Jason Mraz – perform during tonight’s results show.

8 pm Raising Hope (Fox) | Gay bars are just more fun than regular bars, as Burt starts to realize while doing some recon for Jimmy – who’s prepping to hang out with Sabrina’s gay best friend.

PREVIEW | Exclusive Ben and Kate First Look: Nothing Scares Ben! Plus, the Cast’s Halloween Memories

PREVIEW | Exclusive Video: Emily Owens, M.D. Awkwardly Tries to Get on Dr. Bandari’s Good Side

9 pm Happy Endings (ABC) | Dave and Alex go apartment hunting with their frustrated real estate agent (New Girl‘s Rachael Harris), and Jane takes Penny’s hunt for a new car a little too seriously.

9 pm New Girl (Fox) | Jess gets her Walking Dead on when she works as a zombie at a haunted house, and Schmidt and Cece are – somehow – perfectly matched in their costumes (though we can’t say the same for Winston and Shelby).

9:30 pm (ABC) | Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 (ABC) | June makes it her mission to stop Chloe from playing her annual Halloween trick, and James hosts a “Positivity” party.

PREVIEW | Mindy Project Scoop: Halloween Quandaries, Office Visits and Michael Scott as a Role Model

10 pm Private Practice (ABC) | Alfre Woodard (True Blood) guest-stars as Sam’s mom and Richard Roundtree (Shaft) as her boss in an episode that features a reality show centered on Addison’s castoff the dashing doc. A Special Edition of 20/20: The Perfect Storm will air in Private Practice‘s time slot tonight. (Get more details.)

10 pm Vegas (CBS) | Time to meet the missus! Vinessa Shaw (3:10 to Yuma) plays Savino’s wife Laura, who isn’t so sure that their family will be safe in Sin City – a theory that may be proven true when a Milwaukee hitman comes to town.

10 pm Sons of Anarchy (FX) | From the network: “Alliances are tested, while bonds are broken.” Yeesh, guys. Give us something.

PREVIEW | Covert Affairs‘ Chris Gorham Steps Behind the Camera, Reveals That Conversation Is Coming

11 pm Flashpoint (ION) | Team One discovers the shocking truth about the Business Card Bandit’s identity.

  • Raising Hope, DWTS, Happy Endings, Apartment 23, DVR The Voice, New Girl, hopefully all of the networks here in NYC don’t have storm coverage ALL night long

    • I heard NBC’s already decided to air repeats of “Go On” and “The New Normal” tonight, due to the storm.

      • Last night, they were planning to have an NBC News special on the storm at 10pm, but their website doesn’t reflect that yet.

    • The Voice is on for 2 hrs tonight (from 8:00 – 10:00EST), therefore Go On and the New Normal will appear in the 10pm time slot. Not sure why they bumped parenthood instead of the 2 sitcoms.

Comment by Curly Girly – October 30, 2012 10:39 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Honestly? First I’ll be watching ESPN’s latest 30 for 30, “Ghosts of Ole Miss,” about the 1962 integration of the University of Mississippi juxtaposed with the school’s last undefeated football season. Then New Girl, and I was hoping New Normal’s Halloween episode but I’m hearing no?

  • Are the missed episodes (missed on the East Coast) of The Voice and Revolution going to re-air?

Comment by sheri – October 30, 2012 11:09 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • What are the odds most of these shows will opt for reruns as most of the East Coast is still without power (and thus without the ability to contribute to ratings)? Would they actually bump all these Halloween episodes to the week after Halloween? Or would the Halloween episodes just be forever unaired?

Comment by Lisa – October 30, 2012 11:49 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • @Lisa

If the Halloween episodes are bumped, the earliest they would air is 11/13. Next Tuesday is the election and everything will likely be pre-empted for election coverage.
