What to Watch Wednesday: SVU Hits 300, the World Series Starts, CSI Goes Rat Pack and More

On TV this Wednesday: Law & Order: SVU chung-chungs for the 300th time, Supernatural holds a found-film fest, CSI Ol’ Blue Eyes a murderer and the 2012 World Series gets underway. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 10 programs to keep on your radar tonight.

8 pm World Series: Game 1 (Fox) | The Tigers go up against the Giants in San Francisco.

8 pm Arrow (The CW) | Someone’s shooting and killing Arrow’s targets, and our hero soon realizes that 1) it’s Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe) and 2) the new threat has Walter in his sights. Meanwhile, Laurel and Tommy get caught in an awkward situation with Oliver.

8 pm WWE Main Event (ION) | Ryback responds to Dolph Ziggler’s open challenge.

PREVIEW | Criminal Minds‘ Reid Has a Mystery Woman — and She Has Seen His [Spoiler]

9 pm Supernatural (The CW) | When Sam and Dean find two dead bodies near a laptop with some disturbing video footage on it, the situation cues up a Paranormal Activity-esque hour that tells the story through the eyes of three people investigating an unusual animal attack. Executive producer Jeremy Carver calls the hour “pretty unlike any episode that the show has ever done before.”

9 pm Law & Order: SVU (NBC) | The procedural marks its 300th episode with a kidnapping case that draws parallels to its first season, includes several ties to the SVU pilot and showcases Mariska Hargitay, Dann Florek and Richard Belzer – all who’ve been with the show since its 1999 premiere. Tom Sizemore (Hawaii Five-0), Hamish Linklater (The New Adventures of Old Christine) and Alex Karpovsky (Girls) guest-star. (Get more scoop on the milestone episode.)

9 pm Toy Hunter (Travel Channel) | Jordan finds an Evel Knievel stunt set, a vintage Flash Gordon action figure, the Knight Rider car and more in Knoxville, Tenn.

9 pm Modern Family (ABC) | Pressure from neighbors forces Halloween addict Claire to keep her holiday celebration kid-friendly; Lily wonders who her real mother is during Mitch and Cam’s costume party.

PREVIEW | Hot Video: Nashville‘s Scarlett and Gunnar Make Beautiful Music Together – And Avery Jealous!

10 Paranormal Witness (Syfy) | Season finale: Newlyweds may not have put spooks and scares on their wedding registry, but they’ve sure got them in their Chicago apartment. (You, however, needn’t fear: The series has been renewed for another season.)

10 pm CSI (CBS) | Ring-a-ding-ding! Plenty of Frank Sinatra/Rat Pack tunes pepper this Greg-centric episode, in which a music historian’s murder has an emotional effect on Sanders, who shared a past with her.

10 pm American Horror Story: Asylum (FX) | Sister Jude’s darkest secret is revealed (Side note: Way to offer early payoff, AHS!) and an exorcist comes to Briarcliff to save a troubled farm boy. (Another side note, this one directed at the exorcist: You may wanna bring quadruple your regular amounts of holy water. Briarcliff is messed up.)

Which of the above is must-see for you? Also, hit Comments to offer your own tune-in suggestions.

  • Chung-chung! If only I could remember what happened in the premiere from 14 years ago. My memory isn’t that good. I really only remember the Mayhem dude was in it, and some guy named….Stabler? haha. I really miss that guy.
    .
I nearly peed myself in laughter over the American Horror Story line that Briarcliff is messed up. That was great.
