The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Wish List

The ninth season tiptoed around the much-needed tenant switcharoo we suggested last year: It no longer makes sense to have Leonard and Penny live apart and pay two rents just to appease Sheldon. It's time for Leonard to move across the hall and for his roommate to get a grip.

As for who should commandeer Leonard's bedroom? Once upon a time we would have suggested Stuart or Raj. At this point there's no question: It should be Amy. We don't expect Sheldon to share his bed — coitus is, after all, saved for Amy's birthday — but there's no reason for him object to his longtime girlfriend sleeping across the hall.

The guest star-heavy Season 9 finale didn't leave any time for Leonard and Penny's vow renewal. It would be a disservice to fans if the Season 10 premiere — which promises to pick up right where things left off — managed to skip over it as well. After 200+ episodes, viewers want to see the couple they've rooted for properly tie the knot.

Should the vow renewal happen, what better time to introduce Penny's mom!? We've already given the Powers That Be eight delightful casting suggestions, and we're itching to meet Lisa Kudrow whoever might be cast in the highly anticipated role.

Though Laura Spencer was promoted to (fractional) series regular last fall, Emily was present in fewer episodes during Season 9 than she was in Season 8. The writers never followed up on Raj telling Emily that he loved her out of fear, and the twosome was still hooking up even after he began dating the far more compatible Claire (played by Caprica vet Alessandra Torresani). Speaking of which...

At this point, the show should focus on giving this newer romance a shot.

Last spring's "The Fermentation Bifurcation" explored the delightful dynamic between Sheldon and Bernadette in what was only their second-ever shared storyline. Upcoming episodes would benefit greatly from taking advantage of Jim Parsons and Melissa Rauch's chemistry. (Perhaps Sheldon can accompany the mom-to-be to lamaze class when Howard opts to play video games instead.)

It's about time to give Stuart a lady friend, and who better than Leslie Winkle!? Sara Gilbert all but disappeared after Season 3, but recently popped back up in Episode 200. Chuck Lorre & Co. would be making up for not giving Gilbert enough to do when she was a (kinda) series regular back in Season 2.

We feared the outcome of a "Bernard" pregnancy, but the show has thus far done well by exploring Howard's fear of fatherhood and the couple's need to bring in more money. At this point, we're most concerned with the length of the pregnancy. If the premiere picks up where Season 9 left off, that leaves six (!) more months before the birth of L'il Wolowitz.

Assuming Bernadette gets more emotional as the months go on, that leaves the door open for the writers to tap into the character's well-honed, hilarious mean streak (although we hope the writers remember that her venom is best spewed in small doses).

Here's hoping the arrival of Howard and Bernadette's baby does not inspire Leonard and Penny to have one of their own. If CBS intends on keeping Big Bang around for another year (or three!), it's probably best the series not feature two sets of overwhelmed parents.
