After Gemma pins Tara’s murder on one of Henry Lin’s Chinese associates, Jax decides to get his hands dirty (quite literally) and kill the man the same way Tara was offed: with a carving fork to the cranium.
Episode 2: Lin’s Gun Delivery (15 Deaths)
When Jax discovers that the Chinese were “behind” Tara’s death, he and SAMCRO focus on dismantling Lin’s business. First up: intercepting a Chinese gun delivery and murdering every customer in sight.
Episode 2: Indian Hills’ Local Muscle (2 Deaths)
After Jury enlists two of Indian Hills’ best men to help out at Lin’s gun delivery, Jax ties up loose ends later that evening by killing the associates and framing them for stealing Lin’s heroin. To make matters worse, it seems one of those guys was Jury’s own son. Oops.
Episode 3: One-Niners’ Renegades (8 Deaths)
When SAMCRO begins taking apart Lin’s business (due to his alleged involvement in Tara’s murder), it causes a rift in the club’s newfound partnership with August Marks. SAMCRO’s solution? Retaliate against Marks, as well, by aligning with One-Niners leader Tyler and killing eight gang members trying to split from the group.
Episode 4: Officer Cane (1 Death)
Fresh off obtaining heroin at Lin’s gun delivery, Jax and the club plan to trade the drugs with Ron Tully’s men from the Aryan Brotherhood. But when Officers Cane and Eglee follow the MC to their drug deal (looking for intel on an entirely different matter), the AB members shoot Cane fatally, while critically injuring Eglee.
Episode 4: West (1 Death)
It’s not long before Lin and the Chinese retaliate against SAMCRO, and when they do, it gets personal right away. First casualty: Club member West, who died protecting those guns stolen from Lin’s delivery. (And remember: That gun shipment would neeeeever have been compromised if not for Gemma’s original tall tale about the Chinese. See the mess she’s made?)
Episode 4: Attack on Diosa (16 Deaths) (16!)
But there is perhaps no bigger mess than that made at Diosa, after Lin’s men utterly annihilate the place out of revenge. Sixteen casualties later, Sheriff Jarry gets it right when she notes it’s the biggest massacre Charming has ever seen.
Episode: Motel Owner (1 Death)
Following the disaster at Diosa, Juice spies a newspaper headline detailing just how many fatalies there were at SAMCRO’s business. Assuming the Chinese were behind the attack, Juice shows no mercy to a Chinese motel employee he believes is trying to kill him. (Nope! Just trying to solve the mystery of Juice’s late check-out.)
Episode 5: Lin’s Associates (4 Deaths)
After successfully framing Lin’s crew to get arrested — and beating the tar out of Lin for “killing” Tara — Jax and SAMCRO take out the rest of Lin’s guys in a drive-by shooting later that night, essentially ending the Chinese reign in Charming.
Episode 6: OG DuLane & Co. (10 Deaths)
To make up for the botched deal with Ron Tully’s Aryan brothers, SAMCRO locks down a piece of Lin’s drug-selling turf, where the AB can safely distribute. And, to prove they’re a trustworthy bunch — I use that word very lightly — SAMCRO presents the Aryan Brotherhood with a pile of bodies: OG DuLane, whose men once wronged the Grim Bastards, and quite a few of his associates. And it all traces back to Gemma! How can she even stand with a conscience that heavy?
Episode 7: Greensleeves (1 Death)
As part of his efforts to take down August Marks (which stem from his vendetta against Lin), Jax is forced to track down a slimy pimp named Greensleeves. Granted, the world is probably a little better without Greensleeves on the streets — but his death is still an unnecessary one that wouldn’t have happened, had Gemma not pinned Tara’s murder on the Chinese.
Total Deaths So Far: 60
That’s right, a whopping 60 deaths this season can be traced back to Gemma’s initial story about Lin’s crew killing Tara. Some fatalies are easier to prove than others, but the fact of the matter is, Gemma’s got a lot of explaining to do.
