  1. Ann says:

Isn´t Sterling K. Brown nominated for This is Us as well?

  2. Ingmar says:

Was Gilmore Girls a year in the life eligible for a nomination? If so, Lauren Graham is snubbed once again :(

  3. Ws says:

Travolta was the worst part of the OJ Simpson series.. why do they keep nominating him? Must be name recognition.

  4. LADY_in_MD says:

Why is This is Us considered a TV movie/mini series?

  5. Linda Horn says:

Where is Lauren Graham in this??? She deserves an award!!!

  6. Susannah says:

It’s too bad The Americans didn’t make it into the drama category, it wa such an amazing year for that show.

  7. Laura says:

Good luck choosing between Foy, Wood and Ryder all were fantastic and all in very different roles. Each of those women had me spellbound by their performances. I will be happy if either of those 3 win. Thandie Newton for supporting role without any doubt however again another marvellous performance can’t wait to see what she does in bbc’s Line Of Duty

  8. No Lauren Graham??? F…. that’s ridiculous!!! Sorry, count me out!

  9. Lauren says:

Shouldn’t Mandy Moore be under Lead Actress in Drama?

  10. Winslow Wong says:

Jeffrey Wright got ripped off – They could have left off John Travolta – Jeffrey Wright made WESTWORLD watchable along with Thandie Newton (congrats)

  11. Ryan says:

At what point does Transparent stop being considered a comedy? I adore the show but I have never found it funny. I am not a big fan of giving comedy nominations to dramedys. Some shows are actually funny but get left out because of shows like Transparent.

  12. Alichat says:

No nomination for Sam Heughan? Really?
    And Tatiana Maslany?

On another note, every year, one of the announcers butchers someone’a name. Can they not give them a pronunciation guide on the card before the announcements?

  13. Caroline Lawler says:

Nothing for The Walking Dead? Hard to believe.

  14. Dan says:

Umm…. Where the hell is Judith Light nomination?!

  15. Joey Padron says:

Happy This Is Us, Atlanta, Mr.Robot, Better Call Saul, and other favorite shows got nominated today!

  16. Lysh says:

I finished The Crown yesterday and I’m really rooting for it. So good!

  17. Ya how was Anthony Hopkins not nominated? Got to love awards season. Nice to see The Crown get recognized though. It should win everything it was nominated for. Brilliant tv show.

  18. Lori says:

Sterling K Brown should also be nominated for This is Us. He is outstanding in that series,

  19. Sam heughan again no nomination????? What does it take to get him an award for his acting????

  20. atxnole says:

Anthony Hopkins not getting a nomination is fairly shocking. Fantastic performance and they generally love the star power of a name like that. Have not seen Goliath yet but Thornton must be fantastic in it if it was enough to keep him out.

  21. Christian says:

Thank you HFPA for not forgetting the CW gals!

  22. TvPeong says:

So happy for black-ish and This is Us! Two of the best family shows on TV right now

  23. canadian ninja says:

Pretty sure it’s Winona not Wynona.

  24. peegee says:

agree with most of the Night Manager, but not Olivia Coleman- wooden

  25. So happy Gina Rod is nominated again ,hope she wins

  26. Milo Ventimiglia was robbed — he is extraordinary as Jack

  27. Lawrence Coen says:

Sarah Jessica Parker for lead actress in a comedy? Ridiculous! That show is not funny. It’s not even good drama. I would rather watch reruns of SEX AND THE CITY. Now, THAT show was funny.

  28. Nero tTVfiddler says:

This Is Us… that’s the big news this morning. That show (as noted by many of us back in September) is going to be something special for NBC at awards shows. Golden Globes just the beginning – wait until next summer when Emmys are announced.

Congratulations to the series and to nominees Chrissy and Mandy. Well done … the guys in the cast will get their nominations this summer at Emmy time.

Let’s hope the success of This Is Us will have some impact on the other broadcast networks to step up their game come pilot season time this March and they green-light superior products. NBC is on to something special with this series, and I couldn’t be happier for the cast, producers and crew… and NBC (who I’ve been making fun of for years… NBC is definitely on the comeback trail.)

Well done! …and much deserved GG nominations.

  29. Victoria Davenport says:

So excited for Issa Rae. Insecure is funny as hell. Best female Comedian of the year. She better win because no one was as funny as this chick

  30. Betsy McIntyre says:

Uh, can someone please explain to me how This is Us is nominated as both limited run as well as series? Same with Westworld? Seems to be some continuity issues???

  31. A fan of TV says:

Rooting for, in no order: Matthew Rhys and/or Keri Russell (but picking Claire Foy in Russell’s category cuz even though her features are too petite to look like QEII, she nails the voice. Nails.), Donald Glover and This Is Us.

  32. Well,, now we know why we should not pay attention to award shows.

  33. I'm Batman says:

No premium network or higher level cable network should be eligible for these awards. They should be limited to over the air networks and basic cable channels only.

  34. Michael Summerset says:

Westworld should beat out GoT for best drama. It had better writing and it’s a fresher show.

  35. T.W.S.S. says:

So excited that Issa Rae got nominated, even TVLine misspelling her name won’t bring me down.

  36. Glory B. says:

The men of This is Us… some fine acting … and yes jaw dropping that they were overlooked. Glad the show itself got a nod. It is a breath of fresh air on TV.

  37. Glory B. says:

The men of This is Us are amazing actors. What a bad snub. Glad the show itself got a well deserved nod. It’s a breath of fresh air with a great cast and heartwarmingly real characters.

  38. Brian says:

Nice to see a little Starz love with Caitriona Balfe’s nomination for ‘Outlander’ and Riley Keough getting the nomination for her riveting performance which no one talked about because of their fear of discussions of the material in ‘The Girlfriend Experience’. She was in nearly every scene as ‘Christine’ and she deserved the nomination. Hope she shocks the critics and wins.

  39. As a Game of Thrones fan, I’m really hoping that Stranger Things or This is Us beat it out in the drama category this year. Both of those shows were top notch this year, and Game of Thrones’ season run was a mess. Slow pacing all season, building up big emotional plot threads over multiple seasons for Margaery Tyrell, etc… then having the finale tie up the majority of the storylines from six entire slow-burn seasons in a very unfulfilling emotionless payoff in less than 15 minutes.
Definitely feel like Stranger Things and This is Us were high quality… I feel like there needs to be a broader range of categories though, as This is Us and Game of Thrones are drastically different genres to both be considered simply “drama.”

  40. Lee Daniels says:

Kory L – Maggie Valley Remix (Banned Since 23) I love this movie coming out…
