The Good Wife Spinoff Delroy Lindo

Good Wife Spinoff Casts Chicago Code's Delroy Lindo as Diane's [Spoiler]

CBS’ forthcoming Good Wife spinoff is giving Diane Lockhart some legal competition.

Delroy Lindo (The Chicago Code) has joined the offshoot as Robert Boseman, an attorney who poaches Diane’s associates and clients when she gets into financial trouble, threatening her ability to stay in business, the network announced Thursday.

The new series — debuting in February 2017 on CBS, before moving exclusively to the network’s streaming service CBS All Access — picks up one year after the events of the Good Wife finale. An enormous financial scam has wiped out Diane’s savings, while simultaneously destroying the reputation of her goddaughter Maia (Game of Thrones‘ Rose Leslie). Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, Diane and Maia join Lucca Quinn (the returning Cush Jumbo) at one of Chicago’s preeminent law firms.

As TVLine reported last month, Sarah Steele is also set to reprise her role as Eli’s daughter Marissa Gold (who will work as the new firm’s investigator, following in the footsteps of Kalinda).

Lindo’s character “dominates every scene, intimidates every lawyer, and is beloved by every client,” executive producers Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. “He needs to look like a Chicago lawyer, but have a Shakespearean facility with language, and Delroy Lindo was really the only actor who came to mind.”

Lindo’s TV credits include Blood & Oil, Believe and Kidnapped.

Why aren’t they airing this solely for television?!!

They are trying to increase their subscriber base on their streaming service. With the marvelous cast they assembled, it’s a shame I won’t see the show just like Patricia Lee says- no mas dinero for TV.

Heartbreak to miss Delroy Lindo, but I’m not paying extra money. It sounds good, though. I loved him in Believe and Blood & Oil. The husband sure won’t shell out more money for anything, not even to watch his beloved Tigers, so good luck to them making money on this new format.

There’s something called torrents. All the people crying about nothing. What year are you living in?
