TVLine Items: Trailers for The Affair and BoJack, Miss USA Hosts Bail and More

“Do you honestly think that things just work out for the best? That true love conquers all?”

Showtime’s The Affair is posing a tough question in the first trailer for its upcoming second season.

In the video below, Alison and Noah’s morally ambiguous relationship appears much less romantic than it did in Season 1: They fight, they cry in the shower and Noah, who was arrested at the end of last year’s finale, is thrown into a jail cell. (What are you waiting for? Press play!)

A return date for The Affair has not yet been set.

Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…

* Chelsey Crisp, who plays Jessica Huang’s friend Honey on Fresh Off the Boat, has been upped to series regular for the ABC comedy’s second season, Deadline reports.

I think is Maura Tierney’s character Helen that is crying on the shower…. but anyway, I can’t wait for season 2, amazing show!!!

  2. yurie says:

The Affair Season 2. Mixed feelings about this because Season 1 never explained the conflicting perspectives and even the showrunner had no idea about them. Hope it gets explained this time around :-/

    • Sam says:

If by conflicted perspectives you mean different perspectives then you answered your issue. Everyone remembers things differently which is exactly what the show showed.

      • yurie says:

But it never reconciled the events because by the time the finale arrived we have no idea what is true and what is false. So it feels like a cop-out.

The Affair is maddening. Do I like it? I don’t know. Sometimes it’s boring. Sometimes it’s fun to see the perspectives. Sometimes I think I only watch it because of how impossibly large Ruth Wilson’s mouth is, which I’m strangely attracted to despite being a gay man. I just don’t know guys!
