Bernadette Peters Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce

Bernadette Peters will soon help write the Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.

The Tony winner will guest-star on Bravo’s upcoming original scripted drama, the network announced Monday

, playing the mother of Janeane Garofalo’s Lyla, who comes to town to help Lyla with her kids.

Inspired by books from Vicki Iovine, Girlfriends’ Guide follows Abby (House’s Lisa Edelstein), a self-help author who turns to her divorced friends after splitting from her “perfect” husband. The series will bow Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 10/9c.

* Matthew Perry is getting to know his better half. The actor on Sunday tweeted a photo with Odd Couple co-star Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!), who will play neat freak Felix opposite Perry’s slob Oscar at midseason.

* Fans of Fox’s animated lineup have hit the jackpot: The network announced that Family Guy’s season premiere crossover with The Simpsons (airing Sept. 28) will feature a cameo from Bob’s Burgers‘ title character. Fox also set a November berth for the upcoming Simpsons/Futurama crossover.

* Speaking (again) of The Simpsons: Series vet Hank Azaria has landed the lead role on Bordertown, Seth MacFarlane’s upcoming animated comedy. Azaria will voice Bud Buckwald, a Border Patrol agent who feels threatened by his neighborhood’s recent shift in culture.

* HBO has unveiled a new trailer for the fifth and final season of Boardwalk Empire — premiering Sunday, Sept. 7 at 9/8c — and it makes one thing very clear: Not everyone deserves forgiveness. Watch the new trailer below, c/o Time.com:
