NBC’s new fall comedy Welcome to the Family is staging a Desperate Housewives reunion for its star Ricardo Chavira and his former on-screen love Eva Longoria.

Per Deadline, Longoria guest-stars as a teacher who once romanced Chavira’s Miguel, aka the father of one of her students.

• Professor Proton will make another appearance on The Big Bang Theory. Comedy vet Bob Newhart will reprise his kiddie-TV host role (which earned him an Emmy nomination) in at least two episodes of the CBS series’ upcoming seventh season, the show announced during an Emmy-related panel discussion Thursday.

• American Horror Story: Coven‘s latest teaser takes viewers on a trip down a super spooky staircase. Click on the clip below to experience it.

• MTV has renewed The Real World for a 29th (!!) season, to take place once more in San Francisco. (Season 3 also was shot in the City by the Bay.)

• TV Land has teamed with Sex And the City creator Darren Star on Younger, a new comedy about — wait for it — a New York-set female heroine, Deadline reports.

• John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom), Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights) and Zoe Kazan (Bored to Death) have joined HBO’s miniseries Olive Kitteridge, Deadline reports. Starring Frances McDormand (Fargo) and Richard Jenkins (Six Feet Under), the project delves into a New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy.

  • Wish The Real World would try out some new cities instead of returning to those they’ve already been to. Why not Kansas City, Omaha, or Detroit? Have they ever even done one in Atlanta? Or how about they get really creative and go somewhere like Jackson Hole Wyoming, Anchorage Alaska, or Fargo North Dakota?

    • Do you have any idea how boring things are in Fargo? Blue Laws, Scandinavian beet farmers in the “Big Town” for shopping, an automatic meat slicer at the supermarket [whoop whoop] etc. Fargo makes Omaha seem like Manhattan.
