  1. Tatiana Maslany is a beast.

  2. Tatiany Maslany won over Bryan Cranston and she wasn’t even nominated for an Emmy? WHOA

  3. Tatiana Maslany won over Bryan Cranston?! WHOA. Also, without an Emmy nom? Even more so.

  4. Britta Unfiltered says:

You guys are quicker than Twitter on your updates. I didn’t see that about Breaking Bad on there. Well, good for Breaking Bad. I’m happy for them. Happy for Louis C.K. too. Totally deserved. But TBBT and Parks and Rec over Louie and Veep? Mmm, in my opinion that is a bit of an F up. But whatevs. To each his own.

    • Michelle says:

IMO Parks and Rec is well-deserved and overdue. They should have been winning awards left and right from season 3 on. But I completely agree with you about Veep and Louie over TBBT.

  5. Babybop says:

… The Big Bang Theory and Parks and Recreation tied for best comedy?? I think I died and went to heaven. Best awards ever.

  6. Maslany…Un-de-ser-ved (clapclapclapclapclap) O-ver-ra-ted (clapclapclapclapclap) Rachel Nichols has been handing everybody, including Maslany, her lunch, quality-wise on Continuum. Maslany is nothing more than a 21st century ‘Sybil’ (remember the Sally Field TV movie back in the day?) Gimmick city, and the critics should know better.

    • dude says:

I watch both Orphan Black and Continuum and can without a doubt say that Rachel Nichols isn’t even in the same league. She is not even the best thing about her own show so how can she compete with someone like Tatiana, who gave the performance of the season?

      • johnhelvete says:

Just curious what actor on Continuum you think gives a better performance than Nichols? I can’t think of any myself. I don’t agree with Paul about Maslany by the way.

        • dude says:

Erik Knudsen is definitely the reason I continue to watch. Rachel Nichols is fine in her role but she’s not so good I don’t think anyone else could play Kiera.

      • Simon Jester says:

Agreed. I also watch both, and while Rachel Nichols gives a perfectly serviceable performance, it’s not particularly award-worthy.

        • Quinn Mallory says:

Big fan of both shows here as well. I like Rachel Nichols, she’s pleasant for the eyes. Her character on Continuum is written to be kind of a cold hearted police/soldier for the most part that I am not sure the few occasions where she has to be kind of emotional are enough to garner award considerations.

The cumulative performances of Tatiana as all of those characters really make her work stand out. Not much of a contest.

          • Plum says:

Rachel Nichol was a scene stealer in Star Trek; the mischievous roommate role suited her. On Continuum her character and her cop partner are written blandly, but the rebels and the kid get the best lines. Nichol plays the straightman on Continuum, would be cool if they’d loosen up her character more. Faith would say that Rachel is proper and joyless.

    • You are entitled to drown in your own delusion.

      • You don’t think this was a reminder of United States of Tara (remember that show with the multiple roles/personalities)? And John, Nichols had about 5 Emmy submission tapes to choose from season 1, if Continuum had been eligible for consideration. It isn’t, because like Lost Girl, it’s a 100% Canadian production, and they’re shuffled off to the separate and unequal International Emmy field.

        • Lois says:

Orphan Black isn’t like United States of Tara or Sybil. Those latter two were about one person who had multiple personalities. Orphan Black is about a group of women who find out they are all clones. Maslany isn’t playing one person who goes back and forth between personalities. She plays multiple people who interact with each other. Many scenes feature just Maslany as 2 or 3 characters interacting with each other. Not only does she play each person differently, but when she had one person impersonating another, you can tell. It’s an amazing performance, which many performers would not be capable of.

    • Lovely says:

I watch and enjoy Continuum and I think Rachel Nichols does a fine job as Kiera but let’s not kid ourselves here Tatiana is nothing short of brilliant in Orphan Black. She has an exceptionally demanding role and manages to deliver a string of nuanced performances for multiple characters each week. Overrated? Hardly. How could she be when she wasnt even recognized by The Emmy’s?

    • Mike R. says:

You’re entitled to you own opinion, even if you are in the minority. I think Maslany deserved this and was clearly snubbed an Emmy for her work in S1 of Orphan Black, but Rachel Nichol has also been great in Continuum, but not on the same level as Maslany.

    • Marcinho11 says:

LMFAO. Continuum isn’t even close to being awards worthy.

    • Brooke says:

Okay, I love Continuum and am fond of Rachel Nichols, but her acting is not something astounding. It’s perfectly serviceable and I would never call her a bad actress, but she’s not above and beyond like many of the actresses (including Tatiana Maslany) who have been nominated for awards.

    • Hey...HEY! says:

Rachel Nichols is lucky she’s hot. She couldn’t act her way out of a wet paper sack! You are whacked out.

    • Lois says:

Rachel Nichols is OK, but she’s shown nothing to suggest that she’s in the same league as Maslany or the other nominated people, like Bryan Cranston. Maybe someday Nichols will give a performance that elevates her to their level, but Continuum isn’t it.

  7. Sorry, I didn’t mean to post twice, I didn’t show before :(

  8. Tatiana Fan says:

Tatiana gave the best performance(s) of the year – hands down. So happy to see her win this much deserved award.

  9. ajintexas says:

I always enjoy these awards since they seem to get it right every year. Now on to the Emmys where none of the winners will make any sense because the nominations usually don’t make any sense either.

  10. Nolajersey says:

So Bunheads wins for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programing and ABC Family canceled it. Meanwhile a lot of its other trashy shows live on.

    • dude says:

Yeah, it’s called business. When shows are watched by no one and make no money, they tend to not be kept in favour of shows that are watched by people and do make money. You want to cry that your show got cancelled, blame the millions of people that couldn’t be bothered to watch, not the network that gave it a chance and is the reason you were able to enjoy it for the length of time you did.

  11. dude says:

This just further proves what a joke the Emmys are.

  12. Jared says:

I’m sorry but PARKS AND REC having to share an award with a show like BIG BANG is a joke!

  13. Sharon says:

I hope Downton Abbey won’t get any recognition in the coming Emmy’s either. Their last season was awful, they don’t deserve the nominations they received!

    • dude says:

I feel like the Emmys just like to get stuck in the same patterns. “Well we nominated Downton Abbey last year, we have to nominate them again. And Connie Britton, she’s from Friday Night Lights, give her a nomination. What’s this? The Americans? Never heard of it, better not rock the boat.” They nominated Glee’s second season, if that’s not proof of a fear of change, I don’t know what is.

  14. BGD says:

What does INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN DRAMA mean?

  15. Babygate says:

How did Louis C. K. beat Amy Poehler? Poor Amy, she cannot get any respect. She deserved it.

  16. Lana says:

Yay Bunheads! Screw you, ABC Family…you suck!

  17. sam says:

Tatiana beat Bryan Cranston! You go girl! I’m so proud of her, best actress on television!

  18. Janet says:

Hooray for Tatiana! Best actress on television. This award adds to the public’s growing realization that the Emmy’s are ridiculous and irrelevant.

  19. Jazz says:

Tatiana Maslany for all the awards!! Except for the Emmy, apparently, b/c the voters are on crack…

  20. jbkr73 says:

I refuse to acknowledge any awards show that doesn’t acknowledge Justified. It was so superior to Mad Men this season that it isn’t even funny.

  21. Joe says:

So happy for Tatiana and the Americans!!!

  22. liz says:

Its awesome to see Switched at Birth nominated!!! Its such a stellar show, nothing like it on tv.

  23. Joey says:

Happy Breaking Bad and Parks and Rec won.

  24. Brandy says:

Happy for Bunheads & BBT and glad Switched at Birth was nominated .

  25. jimbo says:

While Tatiana surely deserved the award for her performance, I would’ve liked to see Monica Potter win this category. She was absolutely outstanding on Parenthood this season (as well as Peter Krause). Either way, the TCA Awards are spot-on with their noms, the Emmys on the other hand are a pure joke.

  26. handtalker says:

    No love for Justified. :(

  27. CJ says:

One of the only Awards where I am pretty content with the nominees and winners in each category. I hate seeing Monica Potter lose out, but because it was to Tatiana Maslany, it’s not as upsetting. Well done, TCA :)

  28. Dave says:

Sucks that Parks and Recreation (the best comedy on TV 4 years running) has to share an award with a garbage sitcom like Big Bang Theory.

  29. Adam says:

5 paragraphs in before you explain that the TCA stands for Television Critics Association?

  30. bobbie says:

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart was nominated as a news show!!!! I love it! It’s my choice.

  31. Don says:

What, no one has talked about GOT win yet?! Good for them and BrBa for winning!

  32. Nancy says:

    I hate you, ABC Family.
