  • Michael and crew: I am concerned that this coming seson of The Mentalist might be the last, and it distresses me greatly! I LOVE this show and do not want the discovery of Red John’s identity to be the series finale. PLEASE tell me I have nothing to worry about, that it has already been renewed for the sollowing season, and that Simon Baker has signed a new 5-year contract!
I look forward to a positive response from you…
Thank you for keeping us up-to-date on our favorite shows!

  • Thoroughly enjoyed the book Under the Dome. Just don’t see how they can produce more than two seasons though if they plan more. There is an eventual end to all in the book.

  • Tonight is an example of a small problem I have encountered about the timing of programming. I am on the West Coast and have Time Warner Cable. On A&E tonight, if I want to watch HD, I can catch The Glades at 7pm and Longmire at 8. Later, the Glades is repeated at !0pm, with Longmire following at 11.

Am I to assume that A&E provides only a single HD feed?

I had the same scheduling problem years back with TNT, when I wanted to watch the first few seasons of the Closer.

Similarly, E! HD only shows Chelsea Lately at 11pm PDT intermittently, while it is always on at 11 EDT.

Unless one is aware of the difference in the scheduled times, even a DVR won’t help.

    • To record the shows, pick the station, pick the show time you want, and set it to record the series. It doesn’t make any difference if you know the time: the DVR will do it’s own tracking. If you set it to “Any day, Any time” and then choose “First run or re-run” you might get duplicate episodes, but I don’t think so. You also have the option of one episode per day. That’s what I have done, and I never miss a show, even when they change days and times on me. Or, set it for the particular time you want, so it doesn’t record duplicate episodes. There is a way, I guarantee it! I have never missed an episode of any show I wanted to see, even when I was out of town for a week or more, unless U-Verse was out for some reason.

  • Reading that Anthony Stewart Head will be playing the Machiavellian alchemist Paracelsus, made me think of Tony Jay as Paracelsus on the original Beauty and the Beast TV series.

  • Wow! What choices. Thank goodness for DVR’s Fosters, Major Crimes,’Under the Dome Longmire. Will watch King and Maxwell and hope it gets off the ground. I love the two actors. The writing is a bit “insipid. It needs to be more dynamic.
