  • So mad Parks isn’t on after last weeks episode, and their airing a repeat of the voice instead. Ugh…

    • If NBC has a choice, they will air The Voice through out the week. :-/

  • As much as I like Up All Night and (somewhat) The Office, I’m kinda glad that NBC pre-empted their comedies this week. I only have to worry about missing Big Bang Theory because of the CMA Awards. Oh, and the crossout of Scarlett and Gunnar made me smile :)

  • Beauty and the Beast has stunk so badly so far that it would need to improve extremely drastically. Even then, I don’t think I can buy Kristen Kreuk as a tough police detective. She doesn’t have the acting chops for it.

Comment by Alex – November 1, 2012 07:08 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • I think her acting is just fine for a detective especially since she has studied marstial art. Sure, she had to deal with iffy dialogue in the first episode. But I really like her in this and feel she has improved immensely since Smallville. Catherine is a much more likable character than Lana. What helps even more is that her chemistry with Jay Ryan is fantastic.

  • Beauty and the Beast. It’s ridiculous but it’s fun and it’s also one of the better love stories out there – omg people actually developing intimacy through talking to each other! Who would have thought! Plus, Catherine is awesome. Haterz to the left.

    • I completely agree with you. Beauty and the Beast is kinda awful in that guilty-pleasure way, but I’m really really enjoying it. And I’m completely in love with watching these two fall in love. Its such a classic romance, drawn out in a natural way and watching two people connect to one another through mutual interests and conversation. Its refreshing. It reminds me of Buffy and Angel’s romance in the early seasons.
      .
And ya, Catherine is awesome. I love her swagger and confidence.

    • you just read my mind. I love the show even though it is ridiculous, but not everything has to be good to be enjoyable. And yes, sadly it has become very rare that two characters actually fall in love because they talk, I love that about those two.

      • Agreed. Its not perfect but I’ve been liking it. It has a very different feel .

Comment by Michael – November 1, 2012 10:22 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • that’s exactly what I thought. B&B is improving constantly, and if it keeps doing that, everybody should just forget that pilot and get onboard with this ridiculous but somehow great show.
Also looking forward to some bloody scenes on VD!

  • We usually watch the NBC comedies and FX, and DVR Big Bang Theory, Beauty and the Beast and Vampire Diaries (my guilty pleasures that I save for weekend viewing). Since we’re not fans of The Voice, we’ll probably watch Thursday Night Football between Big Bang Theory and Always Sunny.

And I agree — BatB has certainly gotten better each episode since the pilot and I’m glad to hear it’s finding its footing in this week’s outing. Here’s to hoping the ratings start reflecting that!

Comment by Lorena – November 1, 2012 10:57 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Definitely will be tuning in to Beauty and the Beast LIVE, the only show I’m doing that for. Each episode is getting better and better. So glad to hear that the buzz for tonight’s episode is good. I hope more people will give it another chance. Favorite show since Moonlight and Doctor Who. AND, I think Kristin Kreuk is doing a fantastic job in this role. :)
