What to Watch Friday: The End of Fringe Begins, Grimm's Back, CSI: NY and 3 Other Premieres

On TV this Friday: Fringe unfurls its final season, CSI: NY and Blue Bloods return while a new CBS drama is Made in Jersey. Meanwhile, Grimm finally gets its freak back on in its regular time slot. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (always linked within), here are 10 programs to keep on your radar tonight.

8 pm CSI: NY (CBS) | Season 9 premiere (and new time slot alert!): Numb3rsRob Morrow guest-stars as a recently paroled arsonist under CSI investigation after a suspicious blaze kills a fire-chief friend of Mac’s. (Read our Fall TV preview.)

8 pm America’s Next Top Model: College Edition (The CW) | The girls must bring a videogame character to life. Didn’t Angelina already do this 11 years ago?

8 pm Shark Tank (ABC) | Dancing With the Stars‘ Jonathan Roberts and Anna Trebunskaya demonstrate their posture-correction device. (If it doesn’t come with Tom Bergeron giving color commentary, I’m not interested.)

PREVIEW | Grimm Exclusive: Silas Weir Mitchell on Monroe as Nick’s Secret Weapon

9 pm Fringe (Fox) | Final season premiere: The year is 2036 and Peter, Etta, et al are searching for Olivia (see photos here) as they begin their mission to save the world from the ominous Observers. Keep a bowl of walnuts with you at the TV (trust us), read our in-depth final-season preview and prepare to download this song to your iPod.

9 pm Made in Jersey (CBS) | Series premiere: Despite her less-than-polished demeanor, Martina Garretti (Human Target’s Janet Montgomery), a working-class gal from the Garden State, gets assigned third chair on the murder case her upscale New York law firm is handling. Kyle MacLachlan (Desperate Housewives), Donna Murphy (Hack) and Kristoffer Polaha (Ringer) co-star.

10 pm Blue Bloods (CBS) | Season 3 premiere: A dangerous criminal from Danny’s past kidnaps Jackie for revenge, a young cop accidentally shoots an innocent man and Jamie meets his new partner.

10 pm Dateline NBC (NBC) | Season 22 premiere: Josh Mankiewicz reports on a Hollywood stuntman killed by a hitman.

10 pm Strike Back (Cinemax) | Trapped in an isolated police station, Stonebridge tries to get info from the shooter and looks for a way out; Knox and a surprise ally discuss a new plan.

10 pm Haven (Syfy) | When new, dangerous strangers in town act like they should be bunking at the zoo instead of the Motel 6, Audrey and Nathan investigate. Bree Williamson (One Life to Live) joins the cast as a police department shrink.

  • Fringe and Grimm and Haven, oh my! :-) I just wish that Nikita was on an hour earlier so I could record it, too, when it returns.

  • I’m going to DVR Fringe and watch Made in Jersey. There hasn’t been much promotion for this show. I wonder if Janet Montgomery’s American accent will be better than Poppy Montgomerys in Forgettable, sorry, Unforgettable?
