What to Watch Thursday: Three NBC Comedies Return, SNL Special, Awkward and Wilfred Finales

On TV this Thursday: The nation’s capital gets Knoped in the Parks and Recreation premiere, Dunder Mifflin returns to The Office for the last time, Jenna’s Awkward choice sets up next season and Wilfred faces some big, hairy questions in its finale. Here are 11 programs to keep on your radar tonight.

8 pm Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday (NBC) | The late-night series’ cast offers up 30 minutes of live, politics-related sketch comedy in primetime. (FYI, 30 Rock premieres Oct. 4.)

8:30 pm Up All Night (NBC) | Season 2 premiere: Reagan’s brother (Best Friends Forever’s Luka Jones) shows up, Chris goes back to work and Ava’s show gets axed. (Click here for scoop on the comedy’s second-season revamp.)

8:30 pm The Big Bang Theory (CBS) | Repeat to Revisit: In the Season 5 finale, Wolowitz and Bernadette decide to get hitched before he goes up in space. Hijinks ensue and we get a glimpse at “Ma!”

9 pm The Office (NBC) | Season 9 premiere: The Dunder Mifflin crew’s final season begins with a newly empowered Andy taking charge. But does he have what it’ll take to manage a defiant Nellie and two new staffers?

9 pm Glee (Fox) | McKinley’s gonna hit you, baby, one more time as Brittany turns to her icon Britney Spears’ music to snap out of her Santana-less funk. (Watch a video sneak peek here!)

9 pm Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) | With the new season arriving next week, this Repeat to Re-destroy You — the Season 8 finale — features [SPOILER]‘s send-off and [SPOILER-SERIOUSLY?-IT'S-BEEN-FOUR-MONTHS]‘s tragic, shocking, so, so sad death.

9 pm Project Runway (Lifetime) | The designers’ kicky challenge this week: Create a costume for the members of Radio City Music Hall’s Rockettes dance troupe. Smash’s Debra Messing guest-judges. (Psst, designers: Whatever you design, make sure to add a scarf! Messing’ll eat it up!)

9:30 pm Parks and Recreation (NBC) | Season 5 premiere: Leslie and Andy visit Ben and April at their new jobs in Washington, D.C. – running into some big-name pols in the process — while Ron throws a barbecue for the staff. 10 pm Wilfred (FX) | Season 2 finale: Wilfred and Ryan are confronted by shocking existential questions about life and love. Meanwhile, the answer to the most pressing question – Will Wilfred return for Season 3?  — is… maybe?

10:30 pm Awkward (MTV) | Season 2 finale: Matty or Jake? Jenna’s dilemma comes to a head in tonight’s episode — then, in true high school style, you can immediately begin to obsess about what just happened with Awkward. Aftershow. You’re Welcome. at 11 pm. (Yep – already renewed.)
