9 pm Bunheads (ABC Family) | In what is now the charmer’s midseason finale (ABCF extended its run), it’s a Christmas-in-August miracle when Michelle and Fanny grow closer as they prepare for the ballet’s annual summer Nutcracker performance. (Sneak a peek of one of the episode’s routines here.) Meanwhile, Boo works up the nerve to go after a boy.

9 pm Major Crimes (TNT) | The Closer’s well-watched spin-off debuts in its regular time slot with an episode that finds the division working a twisty homicide, Provenza chafing against the changes within the department and Raydor struggling to earn respect while keeping a close eye on Rusty. 9 pm Warehouse 13 (Syfy) | A hockey player who mysteriously recovers from his game injuries piques Pete and Myka’s interests.

  • Grimm for sure, but Bunheads is starting to feel like leftover meatloaf, again. Sutton Foster is more Tracy Ullman than Lauren Graham [yes, I know she's not trying to be Lauren]. The entire show is predicated on Hubbel’s obsession with her and she just isn’t the least bit attractive. And the cameos by GG alumni makes it more of a game than a show.

  • No mention of Alphas airing at both 8 and 10 now? Lame.

But so nice of Syfy to add the 8pm airing. 10pm was getting crowded. Alphas+Warehouse 13+Grimm = full night of speculative TV awesomeness!

  • Grimm has become Buffy? Nick’s Mom is a slayer? I know David Greenwalt is on board, but really if you are going to write/produce slash or fan fiction give credit where it’s due and acknowledge the original.
