Ratings: Duets Goes Out on a Low Note, Rookie Blue Hits a High

ABC’s Duets is not singing a happy tune.

The freshman singing competition wrapped its run on Thursday night with a total audience of 4.5 million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, down 5 and 10 percent week-to-week and hitting a series low with the 18-49 crowd.

The news was better for ABC come 10 pm, when Rookie Blue (5 mil/1.4) rose 6 and 17 percent to score its best demo numbers in over a year (since July 7, 2011).

Elsewhere on Thursday:

* The penultimate episode of Fox’s Take Me Out, with 3.1 million total viewers and a 1.2 rating, was up a smidgen in audience and bested Duets in the demo to place second in the hour (far, far behind a Big Bang Theory repeat).

* Big Brother won the 9 o’clock hour with 6.3 million total viewers and a 2.2 rating, down double digits from its week-prior premiere (but up from Wednesday’s telecast).

* Over on NBC, Saving Hope was flat with 3 mil and a 0.5, while Rock Center (3.4 mil/0.7) plunged hard — down 36 and 42 percent — from last week’s piece on Scientology. (A Person of Interest rerun won the 10 pm hour in total audience, while Rookie Blue copped the demo win.)
