Never Have I Ever Renewed for Season 2 — Watch the Cast’s Bangin’ Celebration
Guess the gods can’t have been too mad about that dropped math book: Never Have I Ever has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix.
The streaming video service announced the news Wednesday via a video starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and her newly cut bangs, as well as other members of the cast. (Press PLAY below to watch.)

TVLine’s Streaming TV Scorecard has been updated to reflect the renewal.
The half-hour comedy from Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher (The Mindy Project) follows Devi, an Indian-American teenager dealing with her grief after the unexpected death of her father. Newcomer Ramakrishnan plays Devi; Jagannathan (The Night Of) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes) play her parents. The cast also includes Lee Rodriguez, Jaren Lewison, Ramona Young (D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow), Richa Moorjani and Darren Barnet.
Kaling recently told TVLine that both she and Fisher drew from their own experiences when crafting Devi’s story.
“We both lost parents, and we were like, ‘It would be so great to — in a show that’s a comedy show — be able to deal with a character who is unable to handle her grief,” she said. “Especially in a lot of Asian communities and minority communities, dealing with grief, or mental health, there’s still such a stigma attached to it.”
Season 1 of Never Have I Ever premiered on April 20.
Well, that’s good news. I’m a 71 year old white guy and I really enjoy the show , I was hoping that it would get renewed!
I convinced my 40-year-old white husband to watch it and he loved it and loved Devi and this news made us both very happy. It was so well done.
Incredibly good news. This show is so good it should have been renewed 15 minutes into Episode One. Too bad they couldn’t get McEnroe for the Zoom meeting.
This has probably been my favorite thing that I have watched during quarantine.
Another 71 YO here who loves the show! So where was McEnroe? He’s a riot and so good as the narrator!! He would have had something hilarious, I’m sure, to say about the renewal and/or the bangs.

According to IMDB, Sweet Magnolias shoots in Georgia. Netflix could be waiting for a season two announcement until they know when they will be able to start shooting there
So happy to hear this! This show had awesome representation. When I watch a show, I want to see the characters reflect the actual people around me, colors, culture and all. Really strong first season, hope the second is just as good.
Fantastic! This news makes me really happy. This was by far the best new American series I’ve seen in the last two years. Reminds me of shows like My So-Called Life and Freaks and Geeks, two shows I also loved back in the day.
I love this show. So glad it’s coming back for Season 2. And, John McEnroe as the narrator is one of the most genius things ever!
