The #OneChicago franchise is holding strong at NBC: The network has renewed Chicago Fire and its spinoffs Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, TVLine has learned.
Fire has been picked up for Season 12, while P.D. and Med will return for their 11th and ninth seasons, respectively. [pmc_inline_gallery]
Chicago Fire (with 9.5 million total viewers and a 1.0 demo rating, with Live+7 playback) reigns as NBC’s most-watched drama this TV season, followed by Med (8.7 mil/0.9) and P.D. (8.5 mil/1.1). In the demo, P.D. tops all NBC dramas, followed by Fire (tied for No. 2 with Law & Order: SVU) and Med. All three #OneChicago shows are down just a tick in total audience versus last season, and down about two tenths in the demo each.
The pickups come as all three shows are off the air for nearly a month, a fairly unprecedented hiatus this late in the season. The trio of Dick Wolf-produced shows currently airs as a block on Wednesday nights from 8-11 pm.
In other good news for Wolf, NBC has also renewed the entire Law & Order-verse for the 2023-24 season; get details on those pickups here.

I’m glad. I’ve been getting kinda bored with Fire this season, between no Casey, too many romance issues and no fires. What is Chicago Fire if they don’t fight fire? But I still like it and am glad we’ve got another season. I like med, but I never watch PD.
Great . I am glad the all 3 Chicago shows are being renewed esp. Chicago PD. also, Law and Order. Love it. can’t wait. But, I will be watching the finales and reruns until Chicago PD comes back on. I am a committed fan.

This is excellent news. Congrats OC shows on your renewals. Although I had hope that they would at least gotten 2 seasons renewal, because I wanted my favourite OC show Med to reach double digits like the other 2, I am still grateful. Well done and can’t wait to see the next 4 episodes of each show
since the trio have been on the air, is this the first time they havent been renewed for multiple seasons?
In 2020 Dick Wolf signed a five year deal with NBCUNIVERSAL to keep the One Chicago and Law and Order shows on air till 2025. They will likely start negotiating a new contract deal next year in 2024, so this may be the reason why the shows have not been renewed for more than one season at the moment. The deals Mr Wolf signed for his shows to be broadcast on NBC and available for streaming on Peacock were reported to be worth a combined $1 billion. I would not be concerned about the shows not getting renewed for multiple seasons because it is likely they will agree a new deal to keep the shows on air beyond 2025.
Cool! Now if only Jesse Spencer would return to CF for more than one episode. The show really lost something when Matt Casey left.

Glad that Med and PD have been renewed but I never watch Fire (don’t care for any of the cast). I enjoy PD because it’s always been a great showcase for Jason Beghe.

I’m glad they renewed Chicago Med it’s my favorite of the 3. Also the only one I still watch. I never liked Chicago Fire and I got bored with Chicago PD when they cut down on the Hank Voight content.
Agree. They need to focus more on Voight and so much less on Burgess and Upton.
I’ve lost interest in Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. without Severide and Jay. Chicago P.D. needs to focus on Voight, not enough of him. Chicago Med is the best out of the three right now.
