The past week in the Big Brother house has been one for the books — for all of the worst reasons, unfortunately.
During Wednesday’s episode of the CBS reality staple, a long-brewing controversy involving Season 24 houseguest Kyle Capener came to a head, as Kyle was forced to reckon with racist remarks he’s made about his fellow players. (Update: After you’ve caught up on Wednesday’s happenings below, read our recap of Thursday’s live hour to find out how Kyle’s week concluded.)
First, some context: Those who regularly watch Big Brother‘s 24/7 live feeds, or keep up with the house’s daily events on Twitter, have heard Kyle make problematic and off-putting comments all summer — for instance, telling Turner that his bucket hat made him look like a Filipino rice farmer, or his over-the-top mocking of Indy’s Brazilian accent. But his rhetoric became especially concerning during Week 5, when he told then-Head of Household Michael that he was concerned about the house’s BIPOC players forming an alliance. During that conversation, he repeatedly cited last summer’s Cookout alliance — made up of only Black houseguests — as reason to suspect that Season 24’s minority contestants might begin working together. And though Kyle never outright said that the house’s white contestants ought to team up against the players of color, that suggestion was heavily implied — particularly when Kyle referred to himself and other white players as the “silent majority” of their current Leftovers alliance.
Kyle has continued to make comments of that nature, including calling Taylor Hale, Joseph Abdin and Monte Taylor — all players of color — a variation of “loud,” “the alpha personalities,” “bullies” and, in Joseph’s case, “scum.” Across social media, he’s earned himself the moniker “KKKyle.” And because most of CBS’ primetime Big Brother broadcasts have excluded Kyle’s concerning comments (especially the words “silent majority”), BB fans have frequently gotten the hashtag #StopProtectingKyle trending on Twitter in an effort to call out the network; the Aug. 18 episode did finally acknowledge the topic, dedicating a full segment to Kyle’s statements, as well as Michael Bruner and Brittany Hoopes’ discomfort with his insinuations. (This is, of course, the second time that racism has come to the forefront of Season 24, after Taylor was on the receiving end of merciless bullying and microaggressions in the summer’s early weeks.)
On Wednesday, after HOH Turner nominates Brittany and Taylor for eviction, Brittany and Michael strategize on how they might escape the week unscathed — and though Michael insists that he never planned to use Kyle’s previous statements as “leverage within the game,” that’s essentially what he and Brittany do after Michael wins the Power of Veto, leaving open the possibility that Turner could name Kyle as a replacement nominee once Brittany or Taylor come off the block.
Michael and Brittany opt to first speak with Taylor and Monte, not only to let them in on what Kyle’s been saying, but to make sure they’d be comfortable with Michael and Brittany ultimately divulging Kyle’s comments to Turner, in the hopes of getting Kyle nominated. During that conversation, Big Brother flashes back to a second chat that Kyle had had with Michael and Brittany on the hammock outside, in which he said, “I’m sorry, but after The Cookout uniting under one common cause, which was race… it has to play into my thought process moving forward in the game.” Monte and Taylor are both taken aback at what Brittany and Michael are telling them — Taylor even notes that she’s shaking — but they ultimately leave it to Michael and Brittany to make the call on whether Turner hears this damning information.
The final two acts of Wednesday’s hour are an extremely condensed version of what happened in the BB house on Sunday — these conversations went on for hours, in reality — but many of the crucial moments are there: Brittany and Michael reveal Kyle’s comments to Alyssa, who says she wants nothing to do with an alliance division based on race. The pair brings it to Turner, as well, who remarks that the situation at hand is “super uncomfy” (the wisest of words!) and insists he wants no association with what Kyle is pitching.
Then, having rightfully picked up on a weird vibe in the house, Kyle asks Alyssa if she knows what’s up, and she shares some of the allegations against him. “A race thing is what they’re pitching that I was saying?” Kyle asks. “Alyssa, this is bigger than game. This will ruin my life if this is what they’re pitching… At what point have I ever made this a race thing? You understand, this is life-changing.”
Kyle attempts to confront Brittany and Michael in the HOH bedroom, but Turner asks if they can have their privacy for a few more minutes. Kyle then heads into the Diary Room, telling the camera that “even the hint of race being a factor is the most concerning thing for me,” and he eventually breaks down in tears. Turner, meanwhile, says in the Diary Room that he certainly believes what Michael and Brittany are telling him, but he finds it a bit too convenient that they held onto this information until one of their friends was in real danger of getting evicted.
Much, much more went down in the house after Brittany and Michael opened the floodgates, but it won’t be until Thursday’s episode that we get to see “the powerful house meeting where everything comes to a crossroads.” Until then, drop your thoughts on Wednesday’s installment in a comment below.
I’m Brazilian and American accent when spoken by Brazilian it is something to mock it because it’s funny. You guys in America are over sensitive.
Yesss they are soo sensitive
Thank you !!
Young Americans are lazy and make poor choices, such as spending incredible sums of money on college degrees that aren’t really worth much and don’t teach them real skills. They are incredibly materialistic too. Then they over rotate on things like racism to distract them from their poor choices and the fact that their country is sliding into mediocrity.
I don’t want to “over rotate” your obviously fragile brain, Jackie, but is it possible that you’re just weirdly jealous of people who went to college? I’m asking because you seem to want to blame them for everything, even when your arguments make absolutely no sense. Take some night classes and log off.
I think it’s horrible that Michael and Brittany decided when it was convenient for them to divulge this proposed racism. Shame on them for ruining a person’s life all in the name of a game. I am thoroughly disgusted by the show. It always ends up dealing with racism. Can we not just play without having to worry about someone’s Color. The world is so divided as it is.
People are not perfect and we are all guilty of saying
things at times that we regret but that does not make one a racist. We are at times guilty of laughing at
someone’s accent etc.
I am not a racist but sometimes things are taken out of context
So let’s play as one people without condemning .
I am against racism but things are sometimes taken out of con
I agree, that was pretty low of what Michael and Brittany did
I agree it was very low!
I ao agree with you
spot on in your comments. This may be the last time I watch big brother as it has gone off the rails. If the comments were so outrageous why did the producers not step in to correct the situation .I feel they wanted to play this angle .Media is becoming more and more untrustworthy
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Exactly
Absolutely agree. Kyle was just commenting about what he saw last season happen. Each side is to blame and if Michael and Brittany didn’t like it they should have spoken up at the time it happened. Sick of this crap
I have watched for the last time. The cookout was racist last season. All people are capable of racism(actually prejudice) as there is only one race. Kyle was only questioning if it was happening again.
Exactly
I agree it is alright for tayler to make the comment she made and that is suppose to be alright
In my opinion what taylor said is just as bad. If she was not going to put a “person of color on the block” then that means a person ” not of color “must be put on the block. Why is that not also racist??????
Exactly, not to sound racist but by her saying she would not vote out a women of color is worse than what Kyle said. He was just making an observation to play the game. By making an all white alliance, why is it racist to have an all white alliance when last year they had an all black one. Sorry to say but what is good for the goose is good for the gander. The network should not have allowed the cookout to form.
Good point! Big Brother producers need to put a stop to using the race card in game play period! I will not watch again if this continues to be played out every season.
100% agree. Taylors comments were way more racist than Kyles. Black people can say whatever they want and everyone just tip toes around saying nothing. But one misconstrued comment by a white person and it’s like a bomb gets dropped. The poor pitiful me movement in this country makes me sick. I won’t watch BB again, at least not this season.
Kay, I think some are genuinely confused abt why the Cookout’s existence is any different than an all-white alliance that Kyle proposed to stop that from occurring. But, when you say, “What’s good of the goose…” you have to consider the 1st 22 seasons before the Cookout. 22 years of all-white alliances and 0 black winners was the goose that motivated an all-black alliance to form to secure the 1st black winner. It’s not racist, it’s honest, to acknowledge that race factors into the game. What’s alarming is when white people want to focus on (with self-righteous disgust) the Cookout or Taylor’s motives and completely ignore the 1st 22 years of Big Brother (perhaps, bc it didn’t affect or disadvantage them or people who they identify with, so it didn’t matter). And, then to let fear and paranoia of minorities cause you to form an all-white group to target minorities and prevent even the possibility of a Cookout #2, just in case…or bc it happened that one season, seems…you know, suspicious.
I hope I misunderstood your comment. I think Taylor’s comment about not nominating a woman of color is a lot more racial than Kyle’s comment about suspecting there might be another Cook Out, which is the most overtly racial alliance that I’ve seen. Everyone that is celebrating what they did is saying it’s okay to be racial if you think the reason is “good enough.” Good enough in whose mind? I don’t watch the live feeds or keep up with anti-social media like some others do because I spend most of my time living my life. Therefore, I don’t know if Kyle is racist or not. I saw both Monte and Terrance say that they do not believe Kyle is a racist. Maybe their opinion would be different if they heard all the comments that Kyle has said, maybe not. I have seen racial comments made by both blacks and whites on the portions that CBS decides to show. I have yet to see a black person being condemned for racial comments or actions. If we’re going to condemn someone for racial comments or racial actions, let’s condemn everyone that makes a racial comment or racial action.
I agree. Michael & Brittany should be TOTALLY ashamed of themselves. When the people of color watch theis back, they will see that they destroyed a person that truly did not deserve it. This is playing the dirtiest game ever.
Yes, that was a dirty move, but not for the Karen/Ken reason you think.
KKKyle IS garbage, supremacist, racist… the unwitting kkkind. The normal Murican kkkind. Like a lot of people in this thread…
Had they been decent, they would have exposed MiniMassa the moment they learned of his RACISM. They don’t care about racism or justice, they only care about themselves. They can eff off just like KKKyle,
SOO AGREE!!
JUST RIDICULOUS. I THINK all this was staged …purposely! Shame on BB
Rand If you think that is racist in what Kyle said and you calling a white girl as a Karen.. Then you don’t have any right to say anything about Kyle. Because you are racist .
LMAO DL over here saying someone is racist because they call someone Karen.
YOU ALL NEED AN EDUCATION ON RACISM.
I believe Kyle was stating the obvious. They all were in an alliance. Now CBS has latched on to it and running like a dog who got out of the gate. I’ve watched your show nearly every episode, every year. Not sure it is worth it anymore
.
Yep, they play it up, I’m done with BB.
Yes yes yes!!! Agree. Why does this keep turning into a race thing? He was stating that the cook out was all black and thar could happen again. The cookout was such a huge success and a big deal considering the eye opening racism that started to get brought into the open at the time so why couldn’t it happen again? Maybe he should have worded things differently but I genuinely don’t think he’s racist.
If Kyle would have made the same observation a year ago he would have been a genius for figuring it out.
Staged!
It is ridiculous to bring race into this game. However, season 24 was clearly intended for people of color. Why is this any different? I have no problem with anyone different than me, and always try to treat everyone the same. If the country would treat others the way they want to be treated, what a beautiful world this would be. Respect, Peace, Love ya’ll
I have watched for years but I am done! I can not believe they let a simple comment that WAS very possible turn into it being racist. When it’s a all guy or all girl , or all whatever..anything but RACE, It’s all good & well to make assumptions. You have taken a nice young man & messed up his life.
Me too i cant agree more. Im so over it not everything is about race. This is out of control. It happened lzst year whsts wrong with mentioning the cook out. They bragged sbout it.
I am so afraid that something like this could push this young man into committing suicide. If that happens, I totally blame CBS. This is getting rediculous! He did nothing wrong. He was playing a game and strategizing.
No, being racist messed up his life.
Seriously Kyle was just trying to analyze and play the game, it’s funny how the black people mage the game racist but yet a white person gets blame from thinking about clear possibilities. If the cookout was all white that would have been a problem too! People win for athleticism, social game and strategy. So there was no need for the cookout essentially. But I guess everything is over-sensitized and there’s no point to the game if everyone tries to make a race campaign.
This is for Cas… won’t let me reply to them. CAS you’re an idiot. YOU need to brush up what racism actually means. Taylor made a racist comment saying she would not put any poc on the block. The entire last season was racist (the cookout alliance). Racism is putting someone’s skin color over another and acting superior based on skin color alone. Kyle only mentioned the cookout out of paranoia, NOT racism. And the reason why he was confused as to what he did wrong is because HE WASNT MAKING RACIST COMMENTS when mentioning the cookout. It’s media-sheep following people like you that are destroying this country and dividing people. Why aren’t you pissed off that Taylor wouldn’t vote out a POC? And the entire last season having poc make themselves out to be superior to other races? You need to re-educate yourself on what it actually means to be racist. You’re making yourself look like an ass.
Comple agree
100 agreed! We’re now cancelling all recordings of the show & necef watching again! Shame on CBS for not stepping in!
I just cancelled my series recording of BB as well. Such a shame the BB producers allow this double standard racism to go on. So it’s only racist if a white person says something. BS BB.
Bye Felicia
Kyle was NOT taken out of context. Grow up.
Agree! Michael even made a statement in the diary room before telling everyone about Kyle’s “racism”. He had said something about trying to save him and Brittany this week yo tell everyone about Kyle.
It’s not an excuse but I do think Kyle is very naive. I don’t think he meant to make this about race. I felt so bad for everyone this week except Michael and Brittany. Also dont feel that they tried to talk to kyle about it before telling the entire house. They never sat with &I’m and said explain what you meant because it sounds like a racist move.
I REALLY liked Michael but after he pulled this, I’m not a fan. I hope he gets sent home. Brittany is only making it through because of her alliance with michael.. they chose to tell the house about this ONLY as a game move. So they didn’t feel that horrible about kyle til their game was threatened…Not cool.
Also don’t think people calling kkkyle is right. I honestly don’t think he realized what he was saying. He Is 29 but he’s a very naive sheltered 29 yr old. And calling someone racist names doesn’t help the situation. He was extremely sorry for what was said, he felt horrible, and I think he has learned from it.
This is false BS. Kyle’s life may be ruined by the allegations started by Money hungry Michael. Shame on this. I’ll NEVER watch BB again… so Disgusting
I 100% agree with dr! & Andy I said the exact same thing about I am done with this show!! Literally the Cookout was made solely on Race & Taylor did say she would not put another certain person up ONLY bc she was another Black Female!! I do NOT believe Kyle is racist at all!! I believe the Only thing he is guilty of is Not Knowing that even when a POC uses that as the Only Excuse on y they won’t put another POC up, in today’s sensitive n over offended cry baby age, U CANNOT CALL THEM ON IT ESP IF U R WHITE!! SO OVER ALL THE BS! DO BETTER BIG BROTHER, BE BETTER!!
I am so tired of the media bias that has started occurring on this show for purposes of hyping up peoples’ feelings regarding race relations. The producers are exploiting race themselves by hyper-focusing on it and making it such an enormous issue all the time. I’ll be choosing to discontinue watching this show if you’re going to keep serving up hot plates of biased slop.
I agree…I have a question though..why wasn’t the cookout considered racism? I don’t understand this one bit..that was ok but when the Kyle mentions this is happening again then it’s racism…when I was a child I was taught to play together there was no dividing race…this show is not right..big brother canada is a classy game..this is disgraceful..
That is so wrong of Michael and Brittany. Michael wants to win at all costs! He is ruthless and used this situation just to get a step closer to the win. They should be so ashamed of what they did to Kyle.
I agree, and shame on julie C.M and all of the CBS big brother team. Look what they did to kyle for some ratings. They should take some responsibility and stop airing this garbage. They should discourage all house guests from talking about racism or grouping up into race groups. I am so angry and disgusted.
Agree 100%, Big Brother game is just that, you can’t play a lying, out play everyone game and then claim what a perfect person you are, seriously what Michael & Britney did was so wrong in not thinking of what this would do to effect Kyles life forever! We all need to put color of skin away out of mind forever! Don’t pretend to be righteous in a game like BB. To me that’s worse than trying to remind someone in this game that another cookout is possible, am I missing something here, that doesn’t mean Kyle has a racist bone in his body. I thought about this honestly and carefully and don’t see why everyone thinks Kyle is a racist. J
This racism is total BS, it’s actually reverse racism against white people, it’s perfectly fine for them to put together a complete black alliance against the white people and nothing is said it all hurray! which is total BS! Kyle says something similar that the black people maybe working together and OMG, your all calling it racism, your idiots! when it’s all said throughout when they talk to each other that “People like us” which is just a term for black people! your doing racism! This crap NEEDS to stop there should be NO consideration to color and the fact that CBS allows this to continue and actually promotes it is hogwash! the fact that Taylor said the only way she would be happy is if Kyle went home was racist bullying by her in order to stay in the game because she was going home, where she should have been!
Lol. Sounds to me like more people that are racist. Why are they even on here talking about something else that’s unrelated? Too funny.
And when we’re not spending incredible sums of money on college degrees, we also like to distract ourselves by reading dim-witted comments from prejudiced trolls like yourself. (Judging from this comment section, there seem to be a lot of you who enjoy watching BIG BROTHER when you’re not letting others know that you don’t think racism is that big a deal)
I agree Michael and Brittany destroyed Kyle’ life. It is not different than what Taylor said. Taylor said she would never evict a black person. I hope Michael and Brittany are both sent home.
I totally agree with you on both accounts.
Agree
Absolutely incoherent.🤣🤣
Absolutely racism is BiG Big deal, the problem with this situation is it wasn’t flat out intention racism. It just wasn’t! Racism, is when a person doesn’t get the job can’t eat in a restaurant, targeted by police, made to feel less then, hurtful mean things are said, and the list goes on. The problem here is this isn’t really something that was hurtful in that way, maybe more hurtful in a game but not in real life. It’s dumbing down the meaning and it was twisted for the purpose of furthering someone’s else’s game. That’s how I see it anyway, but honestly everyone has different experiences and will feel differently because of it.
As BB superman , I am done the show is gone to the snowflakes. It is ok for the cookout to form but Kyle can’t even ask if it is happening again this year.. so what is the big deal fools? Everyone is so worried about offending blacks and guys it’s silly. So dissapointed that Kyle didn’t stand up for himself and say listen fools if it’s ok for the blacks it is ok for the whites. The whites are being abused and walking on egg shells so they do not get cancelled. All players on this season suck so tired of hearing how blacks are offernded stop being a victim and grow the hell up go get help already you do not belong on tv. People tune into the show to escape our insane world not to watch more crazy. I almost threw up watching how Kyle was treated!! Not watching anymore of these idiots . Everyone should be treated the same period. Bb should not let players talk about race , religion politics and sex . News flash people do not need to know if your gay strait or anything else. The players should be picked by their personality not by oh we need so many black , gay , bi Trans , fat ,Asian. Its crazy just pick people by their personality only. So if you are reading this and your offended I just wanna say you are what is wrong with this world and your an idiot. Maybe you guys should have 2 shows a year one for the black ,Trans binary
The other show for white gay and lesbians
They won’t do that because everyone will tune into the whites because they are more interesting and isn’t crying about how they are miss treated!!
100% spot on comment. The fact that the network even allowed this type of racism last season and supported it just shows how damaged this country has become. Maybe these snowflake idiots need to brush up on what it’s like to TRULY live in a racist America.
Racism is a big deal or all these people wouldn’t be commenting. Confusing racism with game play or making racism fine for one group while demonizing another for the very same is illogical, inconsistent, self-serving and manipulative. The real problem is that no one is interested is solving the issue of racism, rather it is being used to further divide. The solution to racism is equality for all. Empowering the victims of racism to further continue racist oppression themselves makes them no better than their previous oppressors, continuing the cycle. They used to teach critical thinking & problem solving in college. Not sure what they teach now.
LOL. Thank you both for proving my point. Enjoy your faux racism and lower standard of living!
LOL
LOL Poor choices. Um, no. Other developed countries like their population educated and America makes it just about impossible to do that without burdens of debt. And racism is a very real and very big problem that contributes to our country sliding into mediocrity.
What really upsets me is that it was ok for the black contestants to band together both last season and now there is talk for this season but if a non-black houseguest band together that’s racism. I stopped watching last year’s season because of Big Brothers pushing all the racism stuff and it looks like I won’t be finishing this season either because of Big Brothers pushing it again. Why can’t Big Brother go back to the way it was where there wasn’t any issue of color it was just who the better player came out on top. Seems to me that Big Brother is the one pushing all the racism stuff.
Well said. If I was Kyle I would file a lawsuit for all the damage they are doing to his personal life. How is it ok for the black people to align and when it’s called it out it’s racism? This game is now a joke and I will no longer follow it. Same on CBS for allowing this to happen.
Agreed and Same!
speak your peace preach it preach it
Agree. Feel bad for Kyle. Shouldn’t be. Think BB/CBS not only allowed it, but perpetuated it.
Exactly My husband and I have said that for a while now. Entertainment supposed to be entertainment not politically racially sexually or whatever Motivated. It was not right when there was the me too movement and then unmentioned names husband seem to kind of slide through it and that was OK and now all the racial contact in the show you’re right it’s time to stop watching
And yet, when entertainment was what you call entertainment, POC have little chance of success. Exhibit A: The first 23 seasons of historically racist Big Brother. Of course you’d enjoy that.
Poor MAGAts ALWAYS need to be number one.
That is why your country will fail. Born under the evil of slavery and white supremacy, it was doomed from jump. The US deserves all it gets for the centuries of misery is has caused and continues to cause.
Rand, I am far from a MAGAt but what happened here wasn’t racism, it was a lack of education and understanding. I am from the same area as Kyle, but totally not the same life. He is a sheltered White Mormon Utah male who lives in a city that is 89% White, in a county that is 92% White, and in a State that is 77% White. The second largest population of citizens is Hispanic/Latino. The Black or African American population in his city is 0.5% so chances are he has met maybe one or two Black people in his entire life. It’s not racism, it’s ignorance just as Terrance was saying. Now there are some very racist people in Utah, I’ve personally encountered them. Kyle would not be one of them
Thank you, Barbara, for your thoughts! I couldn’t agree with you more! The double-standard really upsets me! I would never put myself in a position at the mercy of a tv network’s ratings!!! Shame on CBS!
Exactly!! I agree with you 100%! This black white thing is getting to be annoying! It’s not about race or color like you said, it’s about who is the better player.
WOW!
I am so appalled by the low level of uneducated bias and obvious lack of awareness of so many of you who are posting comments.
It truly becomes apparent that there is a blatant level disrespect, racial misunderstanding, covert bigotry and flat out hate within this post that it should be closed. The **holes who believe that the best player should win BB are without a doubt not considering a BIPOC to be the better player.
The rest of you dimwits really seem to take issue with and protest those considered “outcast” by the other houseguest teaming up and forming an alliance. Oh and they fact they happen to be people of color really get’s your blood boiling.
Please do all of us reasonable folks a favor and stay in your closet and continue to hide your racial bias and let the rest of us live our life.
The best player in the game leading up to Wednesday was a white gay guy and his name is Michael and he just threw out the race card to save his game and his partners. He had an “ace in his pocket” for 2 weeks and found the right time to play it, so F that guy for making this more then a game. He wrecked Kyle and made it personal.
That would be true, if Michael lied. But Kyle did if fact tell all these things. So NO, it is not all Michaels fault, as you implied.
SuperChic, you are on point! The reason this was never an issue is because there was never a diverse cast. There would always be one token minority.
I guess you didn’t watch BB last season!!
What is BIPOC? Can you elaborate on the racial bias? Not pointing out what Taylor said as racist, wouldn’t that be racial bias……asking for a friend? Please educate us?
There is nothing wrong with what Taylor said. That was her personal choice. Same as someone saying they wouldn’t vote out a showmance. She never said she wouldn’t vote out any black people, only that one. Kyle didn’t want to vote out his girlfriend. No difference but nice try.
Superchic – so when Taylor mocked one of the other female houseguests for her “white woman tears”, that wasn’t racist? It was on the live feeds, but of course they never addressed it – wouldn’t want to do anything to tarnish the perfect image of their golden girl, after all.
I’m going to be honest, up til I read the other comments he made, I saw absolutely nothing wrong with the reasoning same as I don’t see it as misogynistic when guys wonder about possible all girls alliances or vice-versa. Our people pinning jocks as big targets etc. There is an obvious reason why all the BIPOC players could get together just as they did last year. People tend to associate with people they recognize themselves in and considering all possibilities is the name of the game. I just don’t think the way Michael and Britanny went about it was right. Period. We are ALL biased, it’s the way we chose to go about it that defines us and I’m sorry but I didn’t see Kyle as being a future leader of the KKK because he has raised the possibility that the BIPOC people of the house could find themselves looking around at one point and saying we did not plan it at first but now that we are here, we could go for the cookout2 or whatever just as if the house ended up being 6 girls and 2 boys or the other way around they could band together at that point etc. As far as Taylor not wanting to put up a strong black woman up, I’m very sorry but HOW exactly was she a strong player? That being said we ALL have biases and those who say they don’t are hypocrites and are not fooling anyone. It’s the reason there are so few women on the big business boards, it’s the reason women are underpaid, people of color more often stopped / shot by the police, people with glasses seen as more intelligent, blue eyed blond hair Ukrainians being killed by a dictator can stay in the news for months while we ignore Afghanistan’s women and kids dying of hunger or Ouighour people, letting monkey pox vaccines go bad in America instead of sending them to Nigeria where they would have made a huge difference etc. etc. etc. and it is what we do with our own biases and the work we do on surpassing them that matters in the end and that will bring change. I might have been fouled but I saw more remorse in Kyle than in one week that I ever saw from many actual racists / misogyne and sometimes both at once people that didn’t keep them from becoming leaders if you know what I mean!
Exactly! We’ll said!
You got a few things wrong; more white people are shot by police (raw numbers!) despite more back people committing more crimes. Look at the stats!!!! The left try and normalize it by population skewing to be more black people being shot; however, if you normalized it to actual crime then it’s very clear that it’s ten times more dangerous to be a white criminal than a black one. You have to look at the actual stats; with stats you can skew it in any direction just by changing a few words to fit your agenda.
The ACTUAL stats for ”someone” :
https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.1821204116
And that is just police. It doesn’t even include vigilantes and other assholes! And it just includes SHOT by the police it doesn’t take George Floyd’s / Eric Garner’s / all the other that are not on tape cases. As far as ”crime per race” and all the bull**** you are trying to sell us : what crime did Breonna Taylor commit exactly? About Philando Castile?
Don’t talk to me about stats when I am talking about lives!
Yes 100%. Kyle has racial bias, and while he should be made aware of it, he shouldn’t be vilified because of it. We all have bias and the points that you mentioned above are perfect examples of it. We just need to speak out
Congrats! Gaslighting at it’s finest. You win the internet!
You are so right – this is a game against players – NOT BLACK AND WHITE against each other……..CBS, the liberal channel, sure is pushing this RACISM
I agree, it happened last season too!!!
In what world is right wing CBS, home of LES MOONVES, TRUMP PROMOTER, liberal? Get an education.
These people are dumb. They don’t understand much of anything.
So true!
Thank You!!!
Completely agree with you! I came looking for the people that are coming to his defense. CBS manipulated this to be exactly what is being seen and shown. And Kyle is right to say this is going to effect his life. Yes, it is. I can’t see how The Cookout alliance was not racist towards the white people in the house? I know POC will say its because white is the majority and that excuse is nonsense. You have people of the same color banning against other people of a different color…no matter what their color is, its racism. Good job CBS for creating the narrative you want the public to see. And poor Kyle for being the brunt of it. Makes me sad for all involved.
Agreed!
Agreed
EXACTLY!!
LOL RACIST TOWARDS WHITE PEOPLE. Also, racism against anyone who isn’t white has literally been a thing for thousands of years. Cry about it when racism against white people has been a thing for thousands of years. Oh wait, it won’t ever be a thing because it is not a thing.
Because you have not evolved your understanding of racism and what it actually does.
I’m with ya Barbara
The Cookout was formed because of all the injustices that POC face daily and how they are treated as less than human. They banded together for a greater good and so that a POC could finally win.
The reason it was never discussed in previous episodes is due to there only being one POC in the house. They just has to conform and not make waves, like many POC do in their daily lives.
BB is not pushing race, it’s airing what happens in the house. Race is always a factor whether people admit it or not.
Check you white privilege please. You do not know what it is like to walk in a POC’s shoes.
None of this is helping. Have POC been at a disadvantage and still are because people make decisions through the lense of race. Of course. But how is by turning around and grouping based on race or color any different.
It is like saying, I hated when my dad beat me as a child but now I’m going to turn around and beat my children.
Racism is Racism and we need to treat all people as individuals not judged from color of skin. That judgement or grouping goes by every color.
White privilege, cry me another River, ever heard of reverse Racism? Well it’s a real thing!!
Are you serious right now!?😳 White privilege??😳 This one drank the big gulp of kool-aid. I own a small business and I face POC privilege all the time, via affirmative action, edge programs, etc. It doesn’t matter if my company is better suited to fulfill a government contract or not……..I’m too white or male or [insert your favorite socialist agenda]. I’ve lost many bids eventhough I was the lowest bidder. So I don’t want to hear about white privilege. In today’s world its a burden as we pay for the sins of our fathers.
Boo fricking hoo. If I run into a cop, my existence ends. If you do, you get Burger King and protection. Eff off with your whine, Ken. I’m paying for the sins of my father AND YOURS.
At least if a cop kills me, I am better off. I fully believe I’m better off dead than being a brown person in a white-supremacist country that was never intended to be mine, and that still sees me as someone who must conform and obey and praised my oppressors or else. Plantation Nation is a cancer.
P it’s all proud boys and he polo shirts – when you pass judgement under this assumption, you are engaging in prejudice.
So are you saying a person of color couldn’t win on their own? That is a racist comment right there and I bet you didn’t even know you said it!
I would say that it IS more difficult for a person of color to win on their own because our skin color comes with a disadvantage. Imagine if an entire group of people just looked at you and assumed that you were untrustworthy before they even started talking to you. That bias is what we’re talking about. We have to support each other in order to help cancel that out.
i so much agree white people can not say anything without some one having something to say smarrt
Totally agree!!! My words and thoughts exactly. It is reverse racism how can they band against whites and its ok. Wake up people!!
You said everything! Why is Kyle labeled racist but not Taylor for saying she won’t put up a black woman. To me that’s racist. What Micheal and Brittany are doing is evil. Michael would sell his soul to win. He is not a good human to put that label on national tv. He is willing to risk Kyles actual life to win the game. Brittany has no mind or emotion of her own. It’s disgusting watching her follow Michael around like a lost puppy wanting a bone. Can’t even imagine what her husband is feeling about it. #Support for Kyle
You nailed it!!
Agree 💯! Ugh, I might quit watching also!
I totally agree, Big Brother is the one that’s wrong they are pushing this for ratings , if you really want to take a stand against racism , we should all stop watching any show that wants to constantly make it about race for ratings. This show is garbage for what it’s doing , and no I don’t feel guilty for calling it out, I will never watch it again.
1000% agree, not going to watch anymore
I totally agree
1000%
Agree totally…the racism occured last season but we don’t talk about that, do we?
I love your comment.
Sick of the media and CBS pushing the race card! This is NOT helping and is divisive in itself. Just honestly not going to finish watching the Big Brother season and expect that the new Survivor series will be more of the same. Thanks CBS for ruining what was once upon a time a relaxing and fun television series. It’s time we all judge each other on our actions and not what we’re being told to think by CBS and the liberal media!
Thanks, I’m so tired of the over sensitive people here in America… it’s rediculous that you have to walk on eggshells around people these days. If All in The Family Archie Bunket was on in 2022 people would want it taken off the air. They lack a sense of humor and take things too seriously
As they say wearing their heart on their sleeve.
We aren’t. We just like to not be bigots.
YES you are right and they are double standard I live here i know LOL
I don’t understand what the big deal is imitating someone else’s language is not racist, some times people like to be silly and do impressions or whatnot. Furthermore saying that someone looks like a Filipino rice farmer because of a hat he had on? To me those things aren’t racist. That’s like saying Seth MacFarlane from family guy is racist. He says a lot of things regarding LGBTQ but to me it’s not offensive.
I feel the same way. I don’t think it was racist. I’m a Jew and I get made fun of all of the time. And so for me when I see someone like him imitating someone or what have you I don’t really look down upon him. I don’t think he’s a racist. I think he knows the game and he wants to win it. He doesn’t rub me the wrong way like he’s doing with others. I don’t think he’s a bad person. I do think he wants to keep Alyssa in the house so he’ll continue to get laid but other than that this isn’t about color.
Someone makes fun of you because you are Jewish and you have no issues with that?
To you it isn’t offensive. You don’t speak for everyone.
They still gave Kkkyle too generous of an edit. He was blatant about his white alliance dreams, but they still gave him benefit of doubt with this edit. CBS is disgusting.
CBS IS A JOKE! Mich & Brit are race baiting trying to save their ass. That’s disgusting!
totally agree
Totally agree with both of you. They are both race batting to save their game. That is so much more disgusting than Kyle’s comments and Brittany is coming down on him hard. CBS is suppose to be producing entertainment. They are so wrong on this one. And I’m a liberal.
No. People informing others of racist comments and behaviour is *not*, worse than the *actual* racist comments and behaviour. Are they opportunistic and not much better for keeping silent for so long? Sure. That does not make them worse than actual racism. Ffs.
.
All this whinging about them being worse is really giving “how dare they throw a fellow white under the bus”/“traitors!” Vibes.
.
Saying you’re liberal is not the defence you seem to think it is to the eyes and ears of many BIPOC. Why? Because of all of the aforementioned nonsense.
Totally agree
This show is really pissing me off with this race-card crap. Did we not also hear Taylor say she couldn’t put a black person on the block, or let alone a woman?!! Soooooo hypocritical. Of course Kyle would think there could possibly be another “cook out scenario” !!! They formed an alliance based on race! He didn’t insult them or deny their dignity as human beings!
What a low blow Michael and Brittany…
100% agree. CBS is a joke! I’m done with this BS, reverse racism show.
100% agree….they went too far this time.
100% Agree
“Did we not also hear Taylor say she couldn’t put a black person on the block, or let alone a woman?!!”
EXACTLY! Where is the outcry
against Taylor’s remarks? Could Kyle have gone to Turner and said ” Bro, I’m not putting you on the block because I can’t put another white man on the block.” Absolutely not, it would be called out, as it should be. Just as Taylor’s remarks should have been called out. Racist behavior is a 2 way street.
You are absolutely right and it is sickening!! On the flip side, on both of the last 2 seasons, there has been talks of the black people starting an all black alliance. In my opinion that is in itself racist, I have never see any other race try to start an all White, or all Asian, or all Latino alliance etc. it’s crap like this that will keep me from watching it any more!
Well of course there isn’t going to be an all Asian alliance or Latin alliance since there at most in one season is two. But White people band together all the time in almost every season.
The Leftovers are not just white people, nor is the After Party.
To be honest, the cookout existed because people looked around, actually saw people that looked like them and said we are actually on a level playing field for the first time in the history of this game. Let’s stick together and ensure we have our first ever black winner. They put on a master class of how to stick with an alliance. It was pretty hard NOT to have all white alliances in the past when 13 of 16 are white going into the house. There was a trend of old folks and people of color getting the boot first. Kyle is a snake. I liked him at first, but he list me a few episodes in.
Perfectly said but they still won’t get it.
they did do a great job! But to say it is ok for one race to ban together because they look alike and not another is not equitable. Any group of people should be able to ban together because shared commonalities.
The funny thing is, Chris, what you said is pretty much EXACTLY what Kyle said. He pointed out the cookout coming together for a common cause cause, which was race. So he spoke the TRUTH. You said it yourself. You can’t have it both ways. Talking out of both sides of your mouth isn’t really a good look. Any comment about race doesn’t automatically make it a racist comment.
The problem is that there is a huge difference between an alliance of one race, and an alliance for one race. These all white alliances you mentioned are an example of the former, while the cookout was explicitly an example of the latter.
Wanting to have a winner of a particular race is no excuse for explicit prejudice.
For 23 season the Majority of the winners were white People. This show for 23 seasons had white winners. Untill ? It was enuff Black people to defend themselves. When you start off with equal players aka People of color. Only then does the narrative changes. To pretend for 23 seasons. Till the cookout formed. Wasn’t about race is lying to themselves. It’s been applied for years. In the house and outside of it. Kyle is a racist period. But the other members should have called it out early. Shame, CBD. For not addressing this sooner.
The show did not have white winners for all 23 seasons. Go back and look at the winners of each season and then come back and re-edit your comment.
Soooo disgusting. He pushes his Jewish and LGBTQAARP stuff and no one cares. He has to be related to production. This is so sad. Paloma goes into the D.R. comes out and Pooch is out of the alliance and Michael the target is now IN the alliance and no one looks at him cross even though he wins everything? Funny how he knows exactly what to do and what answers etc. Paloma quit for a reason,,,,maybe cuz she hated they fixed the game.
She quit because of how lack of sleep was affecting her mentally. If you watched or actually read about her you would know she was spiraling.
Who pushes what “Jewish” stuff?
100% I’m sickened by the whole thing!
Spot on!!
100% Agree
I believe Big Brother lacked diversity in seasons past. I really think that POC never won because seems the cast was not never diverse. I get the concept of “The Cookout” but I was uncomfortable with the fact that they targeted white players. I am not saying Kyle is or isnt racist but both targeted players on the basis of race. What happened with Taylor at the beginning was straight up “mean girl” stuff. And I was happy to see the Leftovers take her in and include her.
I was uncomfortable too about how “The Cookout” got close to their white friends just so they would have a white “friend” next to them on the block each time for “The Cookout” to vote out. It’s too bad that happened last year and CBS knew that would be in the back of people’s minds when playing BB from then on.
I totally agree. They were malice and should be held accountable
I agree, they only brought up anything when it was convenient to them. If they really thought Kyle was being racist they would have brought it up emmidiatly if they were decent human beings and not trying to save their butts instead.
Are you against the black alliance as well? cant have it both ways…
Disgusting that it was okay for a black alliance but if a white person suggests it they’re racist? Welcome to America
Have you ever seen a black person being included in any alliance in yhe BB house? They are voted first in every competition. Only this one time with cookout you are talking crap.
But Taylor was specifically saved and brought into an alliance because many felt she was being picked on.
It’s called Black privilege and sadly it happens more then we know.
Being targeted weekly and daily, only to have players with some decency actually realize a wrong and make it right is not Black Privilege.
And why is white privilege ok for you but black privilege not?
Since Biden everything goes their and we suggest it forget
I agree with you. It’s almost reverse racism in a way. I don’t think that Kyle intended to be racist. I think he knows the strong players and wanted to get them out. It didn’t matter what color they were. What if they were Japanese or Chinese, Jewish, Hispanic? I really don’t think this is about color or ethnicity. I feel badly for everyone that has to leave that house and deal with all of the hate and the misunderstanding of who they are.
BINGO!
Why is it ok to have black alliance dreams? We should all strive to be individuals instead of colors
This season had a chance….But they cant help it…BB and their agendas. Now pushing BRO’S! Stop already.
I guess an all black alliance targeting all the NON-Black people is NOT racist?? Literally then and now have a black woman saying I will NOT nominate a black person. that is the DEFINITION of RACIST. If I was in the house I would say well maybe let’s break that up some. We dont want another “Cookout”. How is that racist. IT HAPPENED. People are so dumb
Taylor did NOT say she wouldn’t nominate a black person. She had nominated Terrance and he was her target to get out!! What she said was she wouldn’t nominate a black woman during her HOH!! She had voted out both Ameera and Nicole so it should’ve been apparent to Kyle that Taylor just didn’t want to be responsible for a black woman OTB as she had said but had no issues voting her out under someone else’s HOH. Also Kyle was claiming it was a POC alliance that included Joseph and Indy not an all black alliance. Again this made no sense because Taylor’s other nominee and target was Indy!! If Kyle would’ve taken the time to really think through his theory he’d have seen that all the POC had already nominated and voted out other POC and that those remaining in the house had other POC as their main targets!!!
When Kyle made that comment I believe they said it was week 5 so people were still going home and at that time Taylor was not a HOH then she became HOH I believe the week they either sent the last person home or started to send people to jury so at that time he wouldn’t have known that but yeah said that stuff.
Why is it only racist when a white man wants to form an all white person alliance but not racist when the members of the cookout formed an all black alliance and voted out all the white people. Someone please explain this to me????
(not arguing with you) See my issue with this is that ppl say “oh you had no problem with black contestants being voted out early on in past season”
That doesn’t answer the question nor prove that the cookout weren’t racist (reverse racism?)
For many of us big brother fans who have been watching for many season it has been about the game play. Yes there were racist players (season 15)but it wasn’t about race that player) black players were voted out. I know that this is reality TV but the winner should be someone who plays well (however you want to categorize that) and not bec their race, religion it sexual orientation.
So when black players form an alliance it’s ok but if a white player does it, it’s racist?
Came here to say exactly this – They made it look like: A) He’d done/said a hell of a lot less than he actually has.
And B) That it was all unintentional,
The way they ended the show with him getting upset was almost like they were trying to paint him as the victim of the entire situation!
Totally agree with your comment. I hate CBS too.
But there was a black alliance dream so what is different? If its racist for someone white to form a white alliance, it is racist for someone black to form a black alliance…it can be spinned using any buzz word desired…in the end, race is the basis of the alliance and that’s racism!
He did so much more than they showed in the edit. He consistently showed racist behavior. It should have been called out earlier but at least it’s not like season 21
But an all black alliance built only to vote out white people was completely fine. Makes sense.
The world is supposed to stay silent. But when someone mentions it being a possibility again, the world gets loud. Such a double standard. He obviously knows he shouldn’t have said what he said, or he would’ve had no remorse. Wonder if Brittney and Michael would’ve even stepped up and said anything if money wasn’t involved. Probably not. Obviously they weren’t that concerned.
Kyle did not have remorse. He denied saying it, just like he blatantly lied about every move he made since Dyre fest.
Everyone that is saying the cookout targeted white people and that it’s reverse racism are the same ones screaming all lives matter. Black Lives Matter was never meant to be exclusive, but saying that Black Lives Matter ALSO. A black person should be able to win BB ALSO!
Trying to make history and help someone win who has never been represented as a winner before on the show is not attacking another race. The problem is that these extreme measures had to be taken for the playing field to be leveled.
Praying for this country!
Exactly! 100% agree
100% agree.
Oh but season after season where minorities were consistently being targeted first was okay with you?
No one said targeting minorities was ever okay. Bad argument. It implies that you are okay with people targeting others based on race as long as they’re not minority. Racism is still racism. If you’re okay with it no matter the direction, you’re kind of a bad person.
It’s not a bad argument. That was the WHOLE point of the cookout forming. There had never been a Black winner in a regular season of BB. They just wanted to make sure there would finally be a Black winner since there was more than the token Black person or two in the cast. If you can’t understand that then that’s on you and others like you would don’t want to understand.
Let’s see 6 or more Asians in a season so they have a chance. They’re also targeted early. The token Asian has a rough road to get to the end too. As an Asian-American, it’s disheartening to be so invisible in this show, and frankly every other show also.
ST, an Asian and Latin person has won the show before but yeah I agree increase their numbers as well. Give everyone one a fair shot to win.
It’s still based upon race, geez, why cant you get this fact…any action taken toward another person on the sole basis of race, is racism…that’s the whole point. It hurts a white person just as much as it hurts a black person when they are excluded or held back solely because they are right…its oppression and it is damaging.
You mean like the first 22 seasons of BB? The fact that it took a CVS exact to put out a freaking memo for more diversity on their reality competition shows should tell you something but it doesn’t. It’s over your head because you and those who think like you do are part of the problem.
Hey. Diversity does not refer only to race and color of one’s skin. So when CBS sends out a message to include a more diverse group of team members, don’t be surprised if a mentally challenged person or a blind or wheel chair bound team member shows up. People get it together. Haven’t we spent enough time talking about the race card? There is so much more to learn about.
In a white supremacist society, country, and system? Absolutely.
Yes. Because for centuries white people held and still hold most of the cards. To survive as a Black person in this world, you have to build up alliances. WHY IS THIS SO HARD????????????????
Such as?
I honestly do not see anything wrong with Kyle’s behavior or remarks. He has his values and game play just as anyone does coming into the game. Taylor came into the game with a value and gameplay not to put another minority on the block, even though the house wanted Jasmine to be put on the block during her HOH reign she did not do it because she was a minority just as she is. “Racist” remarks are only racist when certain people say them. Big Brother has honestly turned disgusting. Last season when the Cookout was formed all the white people congratulated them, not a racist remark was stated. It was big brother history, but now when someone references it or brings it up it is a racist topic?! Come on now make sense!!!
You said it perfectly. It is disgusting and I am no longer going to watch.
100% correct.
Kyle’s final 4 literally has Terrance in it…. A black man. Acknowledging what happened last season doesn’t make him a racist – it’s just fact. It’s a fair point, and mentioning it wasn’t done in any malicious way. If anything, Kyle strikes me as a very well rounded person, especially considering the fact that he comes from a sheltered Mormon family and chose to not follow that lifestyle.
Accusing him of this (when it’s convenient for them, of course) is beyond messed up… It could ruin this kid’s life.
Actually the only reason Terrance is in the group I think is because he’s a number. One thing Kyle did acknowledge during his pitches is that yeah he was saying only White people’s name and knew that wouldn’t look good so he said well we can bring in Terrance. But then later he actually needed Terrance because he won HOH
No, she said she didn’t want to put a Black woman. And she never said if someone else put them up she wouldn’t vote them out.
Such a double standard. They totally allowed an alliance last year based on race and that wasn’t considered racism, but as soon as Kyle worries about that happening this year they try to make him out to be a racist.
Sweet Karen, learn the meaning of the word racism. You might argue racial bias, that would work. But The Cookout was not racist.
Seriously, learn the word’s meaning. And study your country’s true history (but not from a book published in Texas). Then you’ll realize how stupid and racist YOU sound.
Taylor says she will never nominate a black woman, but when Kyle suspects a bipoc alliance he is racist? This is such a stretch and the worst part of Michael’s otherwise flawless game so far.
Uhm, Up until two seasons ago there was never an opportunity for a black woman to nominate another black woman. Let’s put her comments into perspective and realize what she means.
the point is why is race even mentioned at all. Taylor should just play her game instead of bringing race into the equation at all. Once she mentioned race you cant get mad when someone else brings it into the equation as well.
I agree. Why does it have to be about race. Why can’t it be just “people” playing their game, like it use to be, when it was entertaining and not political?
So… this is the first time you’ve watched this show… or you are a Karen or Ken. Cos, dear heart, the first 23 seasons were horribly, deliberately racist. Google search and learn something.
So what? CBS is to blame for the lack of diversity casting. Taylor is responsible for her racist gameplay.
If Brittany said she would not nominate a white woman, would that be ok? What about if Turner said he wouldn’t nominate a white man, would that be ok? These are equivalent statements to what Taylor said. So why is one ok and the others aren’t? Why is a POC allowed to make game decisions based on race, but not a white person? Why the double standard?
CBS is the network. They are in charge. BB producers and casting roll up to CBS, so yes. CBS is definitely to blame for the previous lack of diversity, which is precisely why a CBS execute put out a memo to their shows and changed that last year.
Well said. And excellent comparison and question…..
Amen!
Very good point. We’ll said
Well they don’t have to say it they just do it. That’s why majority of the time minorities are the first to go.
Kyle is 29 going on 12. He continues to dig himself into a hole with his words and excuses. Acts like a juvenile frat boy, look up the banana clip. He isn’t too concerned because he continues to whine to his girlfriend in the house then promptly does you know what w her. CBS has ruined another season with edits, casting etc. This “social experience” has gone awry.
You do no that Taylor’s target when she was HOH was Terrance! Pretty sure he’s Black which destroys your theory. Let’s see if you’re still defending Kyle tomorrow when he owns it and apologizes. The part that’s so sad about this is rather than pause, think, consider and discuss—you rely on whataboutism. It’s a deflection that shows you’re either ignorant or think just like Kyle.
She said she would never nominate a black woman. How is that not racist? Big Brother has turned into reverse racism. I’m over it. This is a game, not a color blind contest. Let the best player win, regardless of skin color. Otherwise let’s just have separate white, black, yellow, gay, or straight BB? The game is ruined for me. Double standards aren’t my thing. I respect all races but this show is losing many fans due to the focus on race.
Racist: prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.
Taylor saying she didn’t want to nominate a Black woman is not racist. If Taylor had said she do not want to nominate any of the POC…would be racist. That’s how it’s not racist. That is a big difference.
Wow, you are ignorant! So, since Taylor was both racist AND sexist in her decision not to nominate a black woman, that suddenly nullifies the racist part of her decision?? I think not.
ur an idiot
Taylor had personality issues w/Terrance. Go back and watch!
There will always be double standards for races! It’s just fine for black alliance. But the mention of it gets you labeled as a racist. And where does game play limit how Michal can spin the race game against kyle
Luckily real kin folk will say “Nah Kyle aint racist. Taylor if anything was. I get what Kyle was saying. Cuz it happened!”
Kyle sayin we have to make sure that doesnt happen again was not racist. Him having a final 3 with a black man (Monti) is not racist. Him STICKING UP FOR TAYLOR when she was bullied and starting the Leftovers mainly coming to the rescue of TAYLOR the racist black woman who said she wouldnt nominate a woman of color. Wake up people. CBS doing the same thing Democrats do. DIVIDE US!
Great, now we have gay white men playing the race card.
Kyle simply said we have to watch out for something like what happened last season. The cook out is the ONLY racist alliance in BB history.
1000000% accurate statement
Accurate statement Harvey. I watched every episode as well as some of the live streams. Kyle does not strike me as a racist nor did his remark. He simply wanted to raise awareness to his alliance about the possibility of what happened last season when a group of people form an alliance and wanted to ensure it did not happen this season.
Michael and Britney waited almost 3 weeks to bring it up as a strategy to further their game and the fact that they did not bring it up the moment they say Kyle said it proves they did not believe it to be racist at the time…
Really. So the cookout an all black team formed is different than Kyle and him forming a white team? That’s racism off the get go. Towards Kyle. So the cookout can do it but he can’t ????????????
I agree. its literally comical at this point. lol
Is Michael doing this to advance his game? I never heard the comments about the Filipino hat by Kyle. I would guess Kyle lives in a non-black area in the state of Utah.
Last year no mention of wrong doing when the cookout was out to get white people. But a white person says he’s nervous that might happen again and cbs go headline with it.
This world is soft these days!
Michael and Brittany are either lying or as racist as they claim Kyle to be. Why else would someone sit on information so mean and hurtful for so long? These 2 remind me of dirty politicians who use the old “divide and conquer” tactic. When it comes to issues on race, the only thing worse than a racist, are race baiters.
Par for the course, as Michael is Gay white Attorney/public defender that knows when too drop that bomb precisely. Race Card- bait!
I’m done with this show!
Well said Luther! I’ve been yelling at the HGs thru the TV but they can’t hear me. I know they have ?’d M/B’s motives for waiting so long. M/B say it’s not a game move and they morally couldn’t continue to keep this to themselves. Nothing moral and uncomfortable when they continued to work with K until M’s friends were up on the block. They should have taken a page from Monte’s book. Monte – “after hearing what K said, I can’t be in the Pound with him.” That’s the stance M/B’s should have been too.
I don’t like Kyle because he seems like a jerk. However, his bringing up the Cookout alliance from last season is 100% relevant! Last season all the black people DID team up with the express purpose of evicting the non-black people! And everyone was okay with that! So you’d have to be an idiot to not consider the possibility of it happening again. Fortunately the black people on this season aren’t as racist as last season and actually wanted to team up with white people.
I absolutely love BB but this is too far. This could ruin kyles life and no one is stopping it. He’s obviously not a racist and Michael and Britt should be ashamed of themselves for using this to their advantage for a game. I thought about stop watching after last year. It’s a game and it use to be fun to watch. But it’s turned political. And now this. It’s sad and disgusting. This season was amazing up until this point. Now I’m just exhausted with the race thing. So black people can say out right that they won’t vote out other black people. But white people mention that there may be an alliance between the minorities in the house AGAIN, He’s a racist? I’m over it
Michael and Brittany ought to be expelled from the house for Stir It up a racial controversy
I agree. It feels like Michael and Britt are “trying to take the high road” but only when one of them is on the block. I saw the feed where Kyle said this. To me he seems extremely sheltered . That being being said Michael is an attorney for defense so the boy can manipulate it’s his job. Britt is on his coat tail. If you watched their talk with Alyssa she turned around and said what Michael had to Alyssa to Turner as if she was the smart one. I hope they both get expelled this isn’t the way to win.
Absolutely! I am appalled that they have done this! They are disgusting!
This is my feeling exactly. Both of them should be ashamed for doing this simply to further their game…
Big Brother is ruined by making it a platform for reverse discrimination, such as someone should not be put on the block or eliminated because of their race, and someone should win because of their sexual orientation. The last two seasons have gone down the tube in reality entertainment, and we don’t care to watch it anymore.
If Michael had good intentions, this info about Kyle should’ve come up immediately. Not sit on it for weeks and only decide to bring it up to Brittany for permission to play dirty to their advantage. If A person of colour can form an all black alliance and vote to evict non black ppl what’s the problem? Players should be made clear to when entering the game, never to bring up race. Taylor stated her opinion about not voting a black personality out. This race card is so overplayed. And for BB to allow Michael and Brittany to stir the pot with this info what did u think would happen and to viewers like us watching? Shame on you CBC and Michael and Brittany in desperation.
CBS is facilitating all of this including Ms. Monves who has this racist blood on her hands for not calling it out last season!
By Turner questioning the timing of being told about the remarks, is an excuse. Turner just wants to win. How sad. Kyle needs to wake up and realize how much damage he has caused in so many ways. Choosing his showmance over his alliance alone, proves his poor choices. The guy doesn’t have a job and will get dumped by her in the end anyway!!
I’m confused why it’s okay to have a one race alliance but not the other???????
She’s like some white people don’t like being treated like minorities?!🤔🤭
*seems
I’m done with big brother. Byyyeee!
I think it’s ridiculous that any of this became a real issue! Kyle mentioned last season and was concerned rightly so that another similar alliance could form, why wouldn’t he? When you play that game you have to look at every person and situation with some degree of suspicion. If you don’t, your an idiot! This is a game of strategy and pretty much anything goes as we witnessed last season. So why the double standard and the out rage?? He didn’t ever say all white, not once even if the core of the people he wanted to side with were white. People need to at some point try to just see people as people, all created equal and all by the same creator. If that doesn’t happen soon, then how will we ever move on from all hurt and just love each other as we are meant to do!
Michael and Brittany are guilty for not calling him out until it was convenient for them.
Yup. If they were so concerned about racism, they would’ve said something right then and there. So sad to me that they’re ruining a persons life. And nobody come at me saying he deserves it or this or that. If the people that felt directly hurt by the comment can forgive, that’s all that matters.
No on is ruining his life. He went on a freaking reality show with cameras and microphones. He said it. No one forced him to say it. Michael and Brittany sat on the info but they are not lying about what he said. You’re focused on the wrong thing. Kyle will have people like YOU defending him and standing by him. I’m sure his twitter and Tik Tok followers will increase after this. His first thought was to LIE about it to Alyssa. That says a lot about his character.
Michael and Britney blew up Kyle’s life for the sake of their BB game 😬
For goodness sakes, just hush! Not targeting you specifically but your comment was the shortest and easiest to respond to from everyone here lol. Michael and Brittany literally just repeated what Kyle said to them, they didn’t tell a single lie. WHY is it so hard to hold a straight white man accountable?! How did it blow up his life? He already said these things…if it was going to blow up his life, it would have weeks ago when he said these things. He doesn’t even have a job to lose. I don’t think Kyle is the worst human to exist, but he said exactly what Michael and Brittany say he said. Michael and Brittany are playing a game to win, and saw an opportunity and good for them. But this opportunity wasn’t even a lie like other attempts people have made to save themselves, they just told the house true things Kyle had said!!!!! Good game play Michael and Brittany, peace with the other houseguests. Big Brother is having its best season in over a decade.
I also watched the live feeds and while Kyle said what he said, Michael DID spin it the way “he” wanted it to be taken. Kyle didn’t say ever All White, he simply ask if they wanted to start a side alliance in case a cookout situation was forming again. Dang people, it wasn’t that bad!!! And his remorse is genuine, he sees that his words caused hurt feelings and so he also feels that hurt, what a terrible person he must be!! Not!! Have a heart, some of the people on the show actually do! Just not Michael and Brittany, they purposely created and set this up to advance their own games! It was an ugly card to pull by anybodys standard!
Sam I agree. Michael and Brittany discussed to destroy a person….this was the time to spin this against Kyle. They did not do it because they were concerned about it, they did it to help THEIR game….and Brittany’s tears are so fake. I’ve never been angry watching Big Brother. This…made me angry. May not every watch again.
I agree with you 100 percent about the fake tears, I had to skip over that with my hopper cause it just made me feel sick. Her tears are over her own guilt for having started the whole awful mess!
Eff KKKyle.
Brittany and Michael exploited KKKyle’s casual RACISM for personal gain, not for justice. They suck.
But them being wrong does NOT let KKKyle off the hook. Glad that RACIST is gone. Michael’s going to win, but I hope Brittany is gone soon. And I pray Big Brother is cancelled. You all were FINE with the first 23 fully racist seasons, and let a dark win ONCE, and you all go MAGAt. Shame on all of you KKKyle defenders.
I don’t approve that Michael basically said to Brittany that he would bring this up to save her and have everyone turn against Kyle. If they felt so bad about what he said, they should have stopped him in his tracks 2 weeks ago. I don’t believe the disgust they act like they have about the whole thing.
I agree
Sad but true. And very sad for Kyle and allyssa
Complete race baiting…Im over this show. Such a shame we have watched all the seasons. So long BB
Good riddance.
IKR? Those 23 seasons where the whites ran roughshod over the darks and it was okay!!! Ah, good times.

Michael has no issue bringing the LGBTQ community into this so what’s the difference? Last season was the cookout voting out white people and that was o.k.
Michael and Brit have completely changed the game; they haven’t said anything for weeks and now that they are in danger, BAM, let’s throw race into the mix.
Tracy – exactly right. If Michael and Brittney cared they would have addressed it immediately with Kyle. They gaskighting this to save their own asses. They both play the worst throw others under the bus game I’ve ever seen. They’re painting Kyle as a racist and exaggerating what he said. It heinous, manipulative and frankly if I were Taylor, Terrance and Monte I’d be insulted that they tried to pull the wool over my eyes by their BS. Turner immediately got what they were doing. I hope he exposes them as frauds.
Hope they both go soon.
I wonder if Michael and Brittany have an inkling how bad this makes them look also. I haven’t watch any live feeds but I really don’t think it bothered them as much as they are acting.
Poor white people. always needing a safe space when they get a taste of their own medicine.
