How will Yellowstone react to tragedy? Will La Brea time-travel to the future? Which Disney heroes are dunzo? Read on for answers to those questions plus scoop on many other shows. (You can and should email any brand-new Qs to InsideLine@tvline.com.)
In the Yellowstone premiere, Monica was in a terrible car accident while speeding to the hospital in labor, and her son John died an hour after he was delivered. How will she and Kayce respond to this tragedy? –Ciri
Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce, tells TVLine, “Normally, these big events have seemed to push them apart and send them to their corners. Obviously, in the first season, they truly separated. But I think that this is the first time you actually see them get closer to deal with the trauma.”
Any Ghosts scoop? –Larry
Richie Moriarty, who plays Pete, told us that his arrow-stricken scout will be “stepping out of his timid self and making some moves” when it comes to his Alberta crush. “The big question is, what will be reciprocated, and where will this relationship go? It feels like our showrunners are kind of playing a long game with this relationship, which I’m very much on board with…. I’ve only read up to Episode 16 of [Season 2], so I don’t know what the other six episodes have in store for this season for Alberta and Pete, but I’m dying to know more and play it all out.”
So, obviously 9-1-1‘s Athena and Bobby aren’t going on their cruise. What will they be doing instead? –Lizzie
I am hearing that the midseason finale (airing Nov. 28) will kick off a new mystery that the marrieds will need to work together to solve.
A bunch of new midseason shows are missing from the newly released schedules. ABC’s Criminal Nature, Fox’s Grimsburg, NBC’s L.A. Fire and Rescue and The Wheel … Please advise! –Marie
Criminal Nature died on the vine back in August… the Jon Hamm-led and animated Grimsburg is on track for a “2023” bow… and L.A. Fire and Rescue and The Wheel remain midseason (which these days means “not fall”) premieres.

Image Credit: CBS Any word on when The Equalizer will return from the holiday hiatus? –D.B.
CBS’ top-rated drama has two new episodes coming up on Nov. 20 and Nov. 27, after which it will return on Feb. 19 with what I am hearing will be a nice, uninterrupted run.Longtime reader here! I was wondering if the creators behind the Degrassi reboot were shopping it around, since Warner Discovery decided to drop it? I was really excited to see a new iteration come out. –Reggie
Well, after HBO Max grounded the reboot, lead producer WildBrain Ltd. said in a statement, “Production on the series remains paused, and discussions concerning the contract with WarnerMedia are ongoing” — and that since “Degrassi remains enormously popular around the world and, as owners of the franchise, WildBrain is committed to the future of Degrassi.” So there’s that.Disney’s sort-of reboot, Doogie Kamealoha, MD, scored four Emmy nominations for its 10-episode Season 1. Season 2 is in the can. Any word on when it will actually see daylight on Disney+? –Jim
I asked around for you, Jim, but there is no timetable to tease just yet. -
Image Credit: Disney Is Disney Channel’s Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion cancelled? Many viewers have been speculating as much, since there’s been no official word. –Kylie
The speculation is sadly correct. The teen superhero comedy, which starred Scarlett Estevez (Lucifer) and J.R. Villarreal, will not be returning with new episodes — though fans can (re)watch Season 1 on Disney+.I’m curious, will La Brea ever use a portal to send characters to 2076? –Charity
During the remainder of Season 2, at least, “No, we don’t do that,” says showrunner David Appelbaum. “But that’s one of the fun things about the show, is we have the potential to do that. Future seasons could take place in other time periods, but for the back half of this season, we’re only going to be in 10,000 B.C.”I’ve had NBC’s Echo on my ‘Want to Watch’ list since Vlada Gelman first wrote about it in January of 2020. Is there still hope that it will see the light of day, or should I scratch that one out? –Erin
Scratch away, Echo was scrubbed a while ago. -
Image Credit: HBO Max Will Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth’s familial relationship get more screen time in Titans Season 4 than it did in Season 3? –Ivan
In a word, yes, though “it may come in drips and drabs,” showrunner Greg Walker said when I delivered your question. “But especially towards the end of the season, we play it more.” As Walker noted, the characters “really are great together, so when we do those moments, they really feel like, ‘Ohhh, we’re in pocket! This is what the Titans show does well!’ There’s one writer, Brian Hill, who really has a knack for [writing] them together. So while it’s not a ‘Dick/Rachel family season,’ their connection is strong.”Anything on Gossip Girl‘s Aki and Max for Season 2 (premiering Dec. 1 on HBO Max)? –Lexie
If you thought Aki, Max and Audrey’s clandestine threesomes were exhausting, just wait until you watch them try to navigate life as a public throuple — that is, once they’re all ready to come out. (The bright side? Your patience will be well-rewarded.)It’s been almost one-and-a-half years since Sex/Life premiered on Netflix. Any update on when the second season will release? Can we at least expect a 2022 premiere date? –Faith
I asked around, and I’d wager all my money on a 2023 return. Sorry! -
Image Credit: Paramount+ Did SEAL Team just slam the door closed on “Savis,” given the way Sonny yelled at and blamed Lisa for Clay’s death?? –Claire
I had the same Q and ran it by AJ Buckley during our recent chat. “I think that when people are trying to make sense of something that you can’t really make sense of, they lash out because they’re just trying to hold onto something or focus in on something to feel like that’s the reason,” he said. “But at the end of the day, when your time’s up, your time’s up, and there’s nothing that anybody could’ve done. So yeah, there is a conversation that will be had” in Sunday’s season finale. “Sonny will have to put his tail between his legs!”Will SEAL Team‘s Mandy and Jason remain together? They’re a strong couple and I would hate Jason losing a trustworthy person now that he is gonna blame himself even more for Clay’s death… –Laura
I asked showrunner Spencer Hudnut about what the future for “Jandy” looks like, and he said that Jason — knowing that Ray is retiring and having expected Clay to cease operating — “is realizing and accepting that he’s still not there yet. So he has question marks in his head about, ‘Can a relationship survive when you’re Bravo One?” That said, and as evidenced in this Sunday’s finale, “Tragedies pull people closer together and put what’s important in perspective,” the EP said, “and I think that [Jason and Mandy], even though they feel the call to serve, also are realizing the importance of being there for one another.”What is JJ up to in the new season of Criminal Minds? So excited to have A.J. Cook back on my screen again! –Bri
I chatted up A.J. just the other day, and she explained that after JJ, Will and the kids spent some time relocated to New Orleans, they decided to return to Virginia. And in Evolution‘s Thanksgiving premiere, “We pick her up exhausted, like most working moms, like everyone was through COVID and the lockdown,” Cook said. “She’s overextended at work, she’s overextended at home,” and that will stress some relationships. All told, “We get to see a fuller version of JJ.” -
Image Credit: CBS Any idea when David Kessler will reappear on NCIS: Los Angeles? –Jerry
There are no plans at this time for Frank Military to reprise his role as Kensi’s archenemy. As Daniel Ruah told me recently, “I haven’t received any information regarding his return or anything, but I really hope he does. That’s a storyline that we should definitely tie up, and also, I just really want to work with Frank in front of the camera again. He wrote that [Season 12] episode, and he played it so perfectly.”Will any of the NCIS: LA cast members write an episode this season? –Maria
Nothing is on the books yet for anyone, no.Given that NBC isn’t airing the Season 10 premiere of The Blacklist until Feb. 26, do they still plan to have and air 22 episodes this season? –George
Good question, and yes, Blacklisters can still count on 22 fresh episodes.Do YOU want scoop on a favorite show? Email InsideLine@tvline.com! Questions left in Comments will not be read and may very well count against your final score. (With additional reporting by Vlada Gelman and Charlie Mason)
