Something became clear as we gathered our favorite small-screen dialogue of the past seven days: TV really got meta this week, huh?
No fewer than three series made wink-and-nod references to their cast members’ previous acting credits, from Fantasy Island‘s mention of Without a Trace to Call Me Kat‘s rather on-the-nose allusion to Erik Estrada’s role on CHiPs. Naturally, both scenes made it into our Quotes of the Week compilation, along with a notable meta moment from the Leverage: Redemption finale.
This week’s roundup features 20 total sound bites from broadcast, cable and streaming’s latest episodes, including quotable moments from How I Met Your Father (get scoop on that premiere cameo!), Law & Order: SVU (did Benson and Stabler actually kiss?), The Last of Us (already renewed!) and more shows. Plus, we’ve got double doses of Servant‘s latest episode and Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s 20th anniversary celebration.
Scroll through the list below to see all of our picks for the week, then hit the comments and tell us if we missed any of your faves!
