Who will get burned by Fire Country‘s mystery arsonist? What has Ghosts scared up for its finale? Who will be SVU‘s next blast from the past? Read on for answers to those questions plus scoop on many other shows. (You can and should email any brand-new Qs to InsideLine@tvline.com.)
I was wondering if you had any scoop on Fire Country, specifically about Bode and Gabriella. –William
We caught up with Fire Country EP/writer Joan Rater — who, BTW, wrote the recent episode featuring #Bodiela’s first kiss — after her appearance in the SCAD TVFest “Showrunners Summit” panel (moderated by TVLine’s own Kim Roots). She was guarded with spoilers, but promised that the budding lovebirds will be “front and center heading into the end of the season. There is some exciting stuff coming up for them.” Bonus Scoop: Regarding the recently launched mystery arsonist storyline, Rater warned that “for one of our main characters, there will be serious ripple effects.”
Will there be Freddie/Millicent father/daughter-centric episodes in Season 3 of iCarly? –Ivan
Yep!
Any scoop you can share on Ghosts? –Candy
As a matter of fact, Asher Grodman (aka Trevor) recently teased no less than the Season 2 finale for us, saying, “It’s going to have more flashbacks, some mysteries will be solved,” and “there is going to be an epic cliffhanger at the end — and we may not be sure who all is in the house at the end of it.”

If you’re feeling deja vu, Bea, it’s because I am re-running your Q with a direct answer from showrunner Eric Wallace himself. “Iris doesn’t have [a storyline], and neither does Barry. Barry and Iris have one together,” Wallace shared. “That’s the difference from past seasons. This is an arc of, ‘Where are Barry and Iris going to go once they realize that their legacy is more than they ever imagined?’ Because it’s not just about being superheroes or being a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist. It’s really about, in many ways — no pun intended — birthing the next generation of heroes. That’s their story arc this year, and it’s one that they have to do together.”How much can we expect to see Jesse L. Martin in The Flash‘s final season, since he is no longer a series regular? –Alex
In short, not too much, especially since Martin’s NBC drama got ordered to series in December. But since Martin had long ago stepped down as a series regular, the season premiere was able to set up a storyline to explain his decreased presence, as Joe mulls a future for him, Cecile and Jenna away from Central City. “I’m very happy for Jesse,” says showrunner Eric Wallace. “He has his new show and whatnot, but we only have him for a handful [of episodes], so obviously you see in the season premiere we have to have a storyline where he can disappear for five episodes and we understand where he is.” -
Image Credit: Nia Vardalos on 'SVU' in 2013 (Everett Collection) Can we count on any guest appearances on SVU this season — say an ex-ADA, ex-detective, or even Phoebe? –Adama
Bradley Whitford and Nancy Travis will both guest-star in the Feb. 23 episode, which was directed by one Mariska Hargitay, while Nia Vardalos will reprise her role as defense attorney Minonna Efron — who was last seen in May 2014! — sometime next month. Will Detective Bruno be in more episodes of Law & Order: SVU beyond Episode 14 (airing this Thursday)? I liked him but saw that Kevin Kane was filming Season 2 of Life and Beth in New Orleans. –Ashley
Detective Bruno does work with Fin this week to solve a decades-old case, and he will be back again later this season, I am told.Do you have any news on who is playing “Young Jane” on NCIS: Hawai’i, and why? –Hannah
As you perhaps surmised from the casting call, an upcoming Season 2 episode will be shedding some insight into Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant’s past. And to help do that, Ronda Kahana Williams (pictured) will fill the role of what I am guesstimating is a tweenage (?) Tennant. -
Image Credit: Courtesy of TBS My husband and I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for the newest season of Miracle Workers. Any idea when it’s going to happen? I’m looking forward to the “Thunderdome” season! –Amy
A lotta mail on this one, so I will reiterate: As we reported just prior to its anticipated Jan. 16 premiere, Miracle Workers: End Times — which finds Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Karan Soni and Jon Bass playing all-new characters in “a dystopian future full of radioactive mutants, killer robots and a tyrannical homeowner’s association with outrageous annual fees” — was delayed, and there have been no updates since.A few months ago there was some talk about a family-related storyline for Chicago Fire‘s Violet, which would bring in some Chicago Med characters/little crossovers. Is that still in the works? –Ingmar
“Right now there are no plans to do a family-related story for Violet with a connection to Med,” Fire EP and co-showrunner Andrea Newman tells Inside Line, “but we love when we have characters that can cross over to both shows, so who knows what will happen in the future!” -

In the wake of — spoiler alert for last night’s episode! — that shocking death, the show will take a methodical approach to his family’s grief in the coming weeks. “Everyone’s journey gets its moment as the A-story,” showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll divulges. “Episode 12 (airing Feb. 20) is [focused on] Laura, Episode 13 is Olivia, 14 is Jordan, 15 is Spencer…. Because it’s all so different, we wanted to give each one its A-story and for them to take us through as they find their way back to joy.”Can you provide an update about when Season 3 of Starz’s Hightown will premiere? Production started in May 2022, and there’s been nothing since. –Sic
I am hearing that the Monica Raymund-led “Cape Cod” drama will return during the back half of 2023.Do YOU want scoop/have questions about a favorite show? Email InsideLine@tvline.com!
