Fall TV Predictions: Young Sheldon's Retcon, SEAL Team's First Cuss, Marvel Meet-Up, An Evil About-Face And More

Here at TVLine, we've spent the summer offering up intel on what will happen when your favorite series return for the 2021-22 TV season.

But what about what might happen?

After taking last year off — really, who could fathom half a guess as to what would happen during a pandemic-riddled TV season? –  it is once again time for TVLine staffers to share their predictions for the upcoming TV season. Last time around, we walked away with an atypically anemic 18 percent success rate (factoring in that our Supernatural forecast ultimately proved spot-on), though typically we land in the 30 percent range.

In the list below, we've compiled 22 forecasts for the months of TV to come, including freshman hits and misses, a first-ever F-bomb, a Wonder-ful "crossover" and Adult Sheldon taking a longer, harder look at his Young POV.

Also among the predictions in this year's batch are a Marvel-ous "resurrection," two new Grey's romances, a true Supernatural reunion and a heartfelt appeal to (the fictional!) Roseanne.

CBS' NCIS: Hawai'i will be the first freshman series to score a Season 2 renewal.

Failing to hold onto enough of the 9-1-1 audience, Fox's The Big Leap will be the season's first new series to get pulled from the schedule. As a result, 9-1-1: Lone Star will return to the Monday night lineup by mid-November.

Legacies will finally pull the trigger on a twist three seasons in the making — even longer if you factor in The Originals — by activating Hope's dormant vampire side.

CSI: Vegas will perform so (relatively) well that CBS will order another CSI spinoff by season's end. (What is David Caruso up to these days...?)

Before The Conners' Dan and Louise get hitched, Dan will have a moment alone where he speaks to Roseanne, acknowledging how difficult it has been to let her go and asking for a sign — any sign at all — that he has his late wife's blessing.

The Neighborhood's Dave and Gemma are having a boy... and a girl. It's twins!

Grey's Anatomy will finally serve Meredith and Cormac a proper drink — and then some. In other developments, a now-single Megan will be just what the doctor ordered to help Link get over his non-engagement to Amelia, and the stork will schedule a visit to newlyweds Maggie and Winston.

SEAL Team's first F-bomb on Paramount+ will be dropped by... Davis.

Young Sheldon will retcon George's infidelity, with Adult Sheldon acknowledging via voiceover that he misconstrued what he saw when he walked in on his father and another woman when he was 13 years old.

On the outs with Sullivan, Station 19's Andy will reheat her relationship with old flame Jack. Meanwhile, Dean's eventual confession of love to Vic will leave him friendzoned — just long enough for second thoughts to torpedo her budding romance with Theo.

After failing to connect with CBS audiences (and in turn bring B Positive down), CBS will quickly swap Ghosts and B Positive's Thursday time slots.

After not drawing quite enough viewers on Monday nights following The Voice, NBC's freshman drama Ordinary Joe will take a longer-than-expected holiday hiatus. It will then resurface In January, airings Tuesdays at 10, behind the highly compatible final season of This Is Us.

ABC's The Wonder Years reboot reimagining — by splicing in footage from the original series — will have an episode where its central character, Dean, nearly bumps into Kevin Arnold during a school field trip.

Disney+'s New York-set Hawkeye will not only feature appearances by Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin from Netflix's Marvel-verse (as has been widely speculated), but also Charlie Cox's Daredevil.

Jared Padalecki will corral his erstwhile TV brother Jensen Ackles — who is already set to direct an episode of Walker — into also guest-starring, as a foe to the titular Cordell.

Survivor's change to 26 days won't be felt on screen, but a powerful new advantage will both shake up the game and irritate some old-school viewers.

One of Chucky's returning alumni from the movies won't survive the Syfy series (premiering Tuesday, Oct. 12).

On Season 2 of CBS' The Equalizer, McCall and Dante will kiss after a kickass mission... but ultimately decide to remain just friends.

In time for this year's season-ending showdown, what's left of the new JSA will get a big assist from the returns of Jennie/Green Lantern's daughter, Yolanda as Wildcat, a "resurrected" Cindy/Shiv and a Rick-tamed Solomon Grundy, plus a Thunderbolt-wielding Jakeem.

After this whole season has led up to his ordination, Evil's David will not become a priest.

By the Oct. 8 season finale, Ted Lasso's Nathan will plot with Rupert to undermine Rebecca (and Ted), and somehow wind up having a significant interest in AFC Richmond.
