HTGAWM Season 6 Burning Questions

Only one episode of How to Get Away With Murder remains — but a lot of questions still need to be answered before the ABC drama wraps its six-season run. Ahead of the May 14 series finale, here are seven storylines that still need resolution in Murder's final hour.

IS ANNALISE REALLY DEAD?

The show has already insinuated that Annalise will fake her own death — but that theory was introduced early in Season 6, which leads us to wonder if Annalise actually stages her own demise, despite her recent talk about quitting law altogether and getting a fresh start. Perhaps the faked death is the red herring, and Viola Davis' protagonist actually does kick the bucket?

IS AGENT LANFORD WORKING WITH THE CASTILLOS?

Speaking of Lanford, it's still not totally clear whether he's a corrupt agent working with the Castillo family... or if he's just a regular corrupt agent who coerces witnesses into giving false testimonies. To his credit, Lanford seemed genuinely surprised that his colleague Agent Pollack was in cahoots with the Castillos. But on a show where everyone seems connected to Laurel's wicked family somehow, we wouldn't hate a little clarity about Lanford's real motives.

WHAT WAS UNDER ASHER'S BATHROOM SINK?

On the night Asher was killed, Frank had done some snooping around his apartment, highly suspecting that Asher was the mole cooperating with the FBI. While searching Asher's bathroom, Frank lifted a loose floorboard under the sink and seemed to find something intriguing hidden underneath... but we never found out what it was, and Frank's discovery hasn't been mentioned since.

WHO KILLED HANNAH KEATING?

In its penultimate episode, Murder added one more casualty to its high body count: Hannah Keating, Sam's older sister (and, as we recently learned, Frank's biological mother). For now, Hannah's death — via a gunshot wound to the head — has been ruled a suicide. But Frank and Gov. Birkhead have both been introduced as Hannah's possible murderers, and there's only one hour left to figure out who really caused her demise.

ALFRED ENOCH

IS WES STILL ALIVE?!

The biggest question of all, though, remains whether Alfred Enoch's Wes — who was allegedly killed off in a Season 3 house fire — has really been alive this whole time. In a flash forward to Annalise's funeral, Wes (or someone who looks just like him) appeared in the crowd, and series creator Pete Nowalk would only tell us that the character "factors into our series ending in a big way."

But is Wes really among the living? Some TVLine readers have suggested that this funeral is in Annalise's head (as a throwback to the visualization exercise she did in the Season 6 premiere), while others have theorized that perhaps Enoch is playing an adult version of Laurel and Wes' son, Christopher. Regardless of the answer, though, Wes' potential survival continues to be the mystery we most want solved.

JACK FALAHEE

WILL CONNOR GET A NEW IMMUNITY DEAL?

Connor seemed to be at peace with the idea of going to prison for five years — until he learned that both Laurel and Michaela had negotiated deals that didn't involve any jail time, despite Michaela's initial lie that she'd be joining Connor behind bars. Last we heard, Michaela was trying to persuade Connor to renegotiate his terms with Agent Lanford, but it remains to be seen if that's a viable option for him. (And even if it were, would Connor actually want to stay out of prison? Out of everyone in the Keating Four, he seems most convinced that getting locked up is the right thing to do after all this time.)

WILL ANYONE ACTUALLY GET AWAY WITH MURDER?

Annalise Keating might be the only one on trial — despite not actually killing anyone, mind you — but countless people in her circle could still pay the price for their many misdeeds over the years. Will any of the Keating Four have to serve time? Will Bonnie and Frank continue to fly under the radar for the murders they've committed? And even though Annalise hasn't ended anyone's life, might she get convicted anyway? (Also: Has a show's title ever sparked this much anxiety?)
