CBS Renewal/Cancellation Cliffhangers

Imposters

S.W.A.T.

Similar to fellow rookie drama SEAL Team, the ensemble procedural consistently draws solid — if unspectacular — ratings. Therefor, it is also a safe bet to return for Season 2.

UPDATE: Renewed!

Getaway Day

SEAL Team

Although far from a breakout hit, the David Boreanaz drama is pulling in solid numbers and, as a result, is a safe bet to be back.

UPDATE: Renewed!

PILOT

Scorpion

Sources confirm that, despite eroding ratings, Walter & Co. are a safe bet to be back for Season 5.

UPDATE: The Monday drama was conspicuously missing from CBS' recent renewal spree, leading us to downgrade its chances to "could go either way."

Refuge

Madam Secretary

It remains CBS' lowest-rated scripted series. But it's also arguably the network's highest quality drama. As a result, a renewal could go either way.

UPDATE: Renewed!

Macgyver

MacGyver

The reboot continues to hold its own alongside Friday veterans Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods, so we're calling this one a safe bet.

UPDATE: Renewed!

living-biblically-recap

Living Biblically

Short of a divine intervention, the faith-based freshman sitcom is a long-shot to return.

UPDATE: The series has since been yanked off the air, rendering it "essentially cancelled."

Settlement Pacifier Attic Unsyncing

Life in Pieces

This under-the-radar gem has two things going against it: It's produced by an outside studio (20th Century Fox) and its ratings remain meh at best. As a result, a Season 4 pickup could go either way.

UPDATE: A renewal could still go either way.

Sting of Queens: Part Two

Kevin Can Wait

The full-time implementation of Leah Remini failed to give the second-year Kevin James comedy a shot in the arm ratings-wise, so a renewal could go either way.

UPDATE: Despite the cancellation clock ticking, and pretty much nobody clammoring for the series' return, Kevin's decent-enough ratings mean it still "could go either way."

A'ole E 'Olelo Mai Ana Ke Ahi Ua Ana Ia (Fire WIll Never Say That It Has Had Enough)

Hawaii Five-0

News that leading man Alex O'Loughlin is game to return for a ninth season lifts the show's prospects from "safe bet" to "sure thing."

UPDATE: Renewed!

elementary-season-6-premiere

Elementary

The Sherlock drama doesn't kick off Season 6 until April 30, so we have a hunch a decision about Season 7 won't land until after the May upfronts. But given the show's age, price-tag and waning Nielsens, a renewal seems like a long-shot.

UPDATE: Sherlock and Watson remain "a long-shot" to return.

The Bunker

Criminal Minds

The venerable drama is a sure thing to return for Season 14 (which would launch with the show's milestone 300th episode). There's also the little matter of that looming cliffhanger.

UPDATE: A decision is once again coming down to the wire, but we remain confident that CBS will allow the show to cross the 300th episode threshhold. That said, we're downgrading the show slightly from "a sure thing" to "a safe bet."

Home for the Holidays

Bull

The Michael Weatherly legal procedural is a safe bet to return for Season 3.

UPDATE: Renewed!

Set Visit

9JKL

The buzzless, ratings-challenged rookie comedy is a long shot to return for Season 2.

UPDATE: The sitcom remains a (very) long-shot.
