Ken Jennings Is In, Mayim Bialik Is Out In New Celebrity Jeopardy! Poster

When it comes to promoting the new season of Celebrity Jeopardy!, ABC is most definitely not burying the lede.

Ten days after the network rather quietly announced that Ken Jennings would take over as host of the game show's primetime spinoff, replacing Mayim Bialik, ABC unveiled the Season 2 key art — and the GOAT contestant-turned-emcee is front and center. The poster stands in stark contrast to the Season 1 marketing, which put a decidedly more subtle spotlight on then-host Bialik.

It was last May that Bialik stepped away from the Jeopardy! mothership, where she shares hosting duties with Jennings, to stand in solidarity with the show's striking writers. On Aug. 21, ABC confirmed that her leave of absence had extended to the starry offshoot, where she had been solo emcee. (As previously reported, the questions/clues featured in the new Celebrity Jeopardy! episodes were written by the show's writers prior to the WGA strike. The syndicated iteration is moving forward with recycled questions/clues and contestants.)

The Celebrity Jeopardy! Season 2 promo push gets underway as questions continue to swirl around Bialik's future with the franchise, post-strike. On Aug. 18, Jeopardy!'s official social handles released a new poster celebrating the syndicated show's just-wrapped 39th season that featured Jennings but not Bialik. Sony declined to comment on the apparent snub, although the artwork has since been deleted from the show's social handles.
