Nikita‘s Aaron Stanford wants to be erased from history in the first trailer for Syfy’s upcoming drama 12 Monkeys.

The 12-episode series, based on the 1995 film of the same name, follows a time traveler (Stanford) who arrives from the post-apocalyptic future to prevent a deadly virus from destroying all human life. If he succeeds, he’ll also be a goner.
12 Monkeys — which is slated to debut in January 2015 — also features Amanda Schull (Suits), Noah Bean (Nikita), Kirk Acevedo (Fringe) and Zeljko Ivanek (True Blood, Revolution).
