Jane Doe, Blindspot
Woke up in a duffel bag, naked, covered in tattoos and without any memories. Co-worker's boyfriend was killed on her account. Waterboarded. Learned that she was behind her memory wipe and ink.

"Matt LeBlanc," Episodes
A Pucks! pick-up destroyed his chance at a promising pilot. Lost a chunk of his Friends fortune to some sketchy tax business. Forced to host a morally questionable game show produced by ex-boss/enemy Merc.

Luke, General Hospital
Discovered that he had a dangerous dark side of which he'd long been unaware. Remembered deliberately killing his father and accidentally killing his mother. Lost his sister (don't worry — it was Patricia, not Bobbie).

Jenna, Getting On
Came thisclose to being replaced by Ron in the wake of the hospice debacle. Lost the Helen Tillman prize to her British counterpart. Made the most awkward (incomplete) pass at Ron.

Nick, Grimm
Found his dead mother's head in a box , moments before a brutal physical fight with his ex, which ended with her dying (or so he thought) in his arms. Had a baby with a woman he hates.

Gordon, Halt and Catch Fire
Picked up a cocaine habit. Learned he had inoperable brain damage. Had his idea stolen by Joe, who turned it into a lucrative anti-virus start-up.

Quinn, Homeland
Was ordered to kill the woman he loves. Was shot to near-death. Was beaten to near-death. Was gassed to near-death.

Asher, How to Get Away With Murder
Found out his father committed suicide, backed his car over the ADA whose prosecution led to said tragedy, and then wound up having to hurl her corpse off a balcony. Did we mention that during all this, he learned pretty much all of his law-school frenemies are murderers/accomplices?

Kevin, The Leftovers
Terrorized by a dead woman. After committing suicide, was resurrected... only to be shot to death by his unhinged neighbor. Resurrected again... but only after being forced to perform a horrendous cover of "Homeward Bound."

Simmons, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
First date with Fitz interrupted by her unplanned "trip" to an alien world. Had to leave her new spaceman lover behind on said planet. Kidnapped and tortured by former colleague Grant Ward. Nearly lost Fitz when he traveled to the same planet.

Elliot, Mr. Robot
Casual girlfriend was murdered. Suffered debilitating morphine withdrawal. Tried to kiss his own sister. Experienced a psychotic break which had led him to believe his dead dad was a hacker named Mr. Robot.

Emma, Once Upon a Time
Learned her parents once did a very bad thing. Found out childhood BFF is Maleficent's daughter. Turns out she brought Zelena back through time, not Marian. Committed murder. Succumbed to the Darkness. To save Hook, turned him into a Dark One — only for him to then sacrifice his life.

Jamie, Outlander
Was forced to marry a woman he hardly knew. Got captured by the British and condemned to death. Was beaten and raped in prison.

The Creature, Penny Dreadful
Lost his intended bride not once but twice. Was imprisoned by his employers. Fled to the Arctic. Plus, you know, he's a creature.

Mona, Pretty Little Liars
Was held captive and presumed dead for months, before eventually escaping a torture chamber designed by the brother-turned-sister of her mortal enemy.

Alex, Quantico
Framed for the terrorist bombing of Grand Central Terminal. Pled guilty (with no guarantee that the FBI will exonerate her) in order to continue investigation. Didn't find second bomb in time. (Hair always looked great, though.)

Victoria, Revenge
Faked her own death — using her mother's body as a double for her own — until she was eventually murdered for real... by the love of her life.

Ichabod, Sleepy Hollow
Watched son die at his partner Abbie's hand. Killed his wife just as she was about to kill Abbie. Went to jail. Lost partner when she sacrificed herself for the greater good.

Charlie, Two and a Half Men
Held captive by Rose for nearly four years. Escaped to learn Alan was still living at his beach house and that he himself had essentially been replaced by Walden. Oh, and did we mention his Death by Grand Piano?

Rachel, UnREAL
Had a breakdown on live TV. Blackmailed by boss into staying at a job she hates, which left her wracked with self-loathing. Lives out of an equipment truck. Was left on the tarmac by suitor Adam and then dumped (again) — publicly this time! — by ex-fiancé Jeremy.

Caroline, The Vampire Diaries
Lost her mother to cancer. Lost her best friend (temporarily) to a sleeping spell. Became the involuntary surrogate for her former teacher's magical twins.

Amy, Veep
Overshadowed by yes-woman Karen. Realized she may have contributed to there never being another female POTUS. Humiliated herself in front of entire staff while trash-talking her incompetent boss.

Glenn, The Walking Dead
Was nearly killed twice by Nicholas — on purpose at the end of last season, accidentally at the start of this season. Made it back to Alexandria only to find the community surrounded by walkers. (Hmm, make that overrun by walkers.)

Gretchen, You're the Worst
Started a fake rap beef that spiraled out of control and turned into a real rap beef. Suffered through a depressive episode that lasted nearly all season. Nearly lost her relationship because of it.
