The Good Wife Unresolved Questions

WHAT BECAME OF THE VOTING MACHINE SCANDAL?

Alicia never learned that Peter was responsible for rigging the election — a situation that led to her having to step down in disgrace as State's Attorney.

WILL DAVID LEE EVER PAY FOR PLAYING WITH THE FIRM'S BOOKS?

As Jackie and Howard negotiated their prenup, Jason uncovered a secret $2 million account of Howard's — one we later learned was created by David Lee to hide firm money during their exit negotiations with the Illinois first lady. But with Alicia back in as a named partner, there's no way that kind of financial impropriety would stay buried.

SUTTON FOSTER?!

Someone please explain how showrunners Robert and Michelle King got the star of Younger and Bunheads to take the utterly random and very brief role of a defense witness in Peter's trial.

WERE CARY AND LUCCA SUPPOSED TO BE A THING?

Remember when they went out drinking and dancing midway through Season 7 — and then nobody ever mentioned it again?

OR WAS CARY SUPPOSED TO BE SECRETLY BI OR GAY?

We still feel some type of way about those early Season 7 episodes where Cary's young male associate put the moves on his boss, then later apologized for the misunderstanding and said he wasn't actually gay, either. C'mon, Kings, at least outline your thought process in the DVD extras, K?

JASON CROUSE, CLOSET PSYCHO?

We would've loved a little followup involving that out-of-left-field phone conversation Alicia had with the New Jersey judge who got punched by her eventual beau Jason, especially that bit about how the tattooed hunk would "eat away at your life from the inside" and his warning that she should read The Sociopath Next Door for clues to how he's wired. Talk about a dropped hot potato!

WAS PETER ACTUALLY GUILTY?

Maybe it's a moot point whether or not Peter orchestrated a mistrial in a murder case as a favor to a wealthy donor — but secretly, we really wish we'd found out just how corrupt (or not) Alicia's husband actually turned out to be.

Whack-A-Mole

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ROBYN BURDINE?

I asked this in Season 6 — and I will ask it again now: Surely, Florrick-Agos-Lockhart didn't pink-slip Jess Weixler's perky investigator after offering her own life savings to help Cary make bail, right?

WHERE DID DAVID LEE WIND UP WITHIN THE ALL-FEMALE PARTNERSHIP?

Last we saw the ill-tempered divorce attorney, he'd filed an EEOC complaint against Diane & Co. Is there any way he stayed with the firm after that bold move?

HOW COME ALL OF THE FIRM'S BLACK LAWYERS EVENTUALLY DISAPPEARED?

Season 7's sneaky-ambitious Monica Timmons (Nikki M. James) joined Michael Boatman's Julius Cain, Michael Ealy's Derrick Bond, and Taye Diggs' Dean Levine-Wilkins as briefly important characters in whom the show's writers eventually lost interest.

CAN CONNOR FOX STILL GO AFTER ELI?

Last we saw, Diane was telling the U.S. Attorney that Peter's campaign guru would plead guilty to obstruction of justice in the Schakowsky case —and do jail time — but it'd make him an unreliable witness in the case against the Illinois governor. With Peter's plea deal in motion, though, does it expose Eli to risk of prosecution?
