There will be four 90-minute episodes (AKA “movie-lets”), and each installment will represent a different season (winter, spring, etc.) over the course of one calendar year.
Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino are penning all four installments. I’m also hearing they will split directing duties.
The first of the four episodes will pick up in real time, meaning roughly eight years will have passed since Rory’s college graduation.
UPDATE: Gilmore‘s principal quartet, Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson, have officially signed on to return.
Many of Stars Hollow’s supporting faves will likely turn up in some capacity, with the probable exception of Sookie AKA A-Lister Melissa McCarthy. (I hope I’m wrong about that.)
We will be getting those elusive final four words.
Rando Dragonfly Inn Customer has not been approached about returning, although sources confirm to me exclusively that he is patiently, nervously, excitedly, shamelessly, humiliatingly waiting by the phone.
