The 100 Spoilers

The 100 Boss Talks Octavia and Ilian's New Romance — or Lack Thereof

When last we saw The 100‘s Octavia, she was seeking shelter from a downpour of toxic rain — while turning up the heat with Season 4 newcomer Ilian. So, what’s next?

Octavia is seen again when The 100 returns Wednesday (The CW, 9/8c), and even though most of her scenes are opposite Ilian, executive producer Jason Rothenberg suggests fans hold off before going all in on this potential new couple.

“I don’t think that night in the cave did much for Octavia,” Rothenberg admits to TVLine. “I feel like she was searching for a temporary way out of her pain, as was Ilian. She’s trying to let go of the pain of her past, trying to move past this killer she’s become. But at the end of the day, we are who we are. Like a moth to a flame, she’s most alive when she’s closest to death.”

Romantic entanglements aside, fans of Marie Avgeropoulos‘ character have a lot to look forward to in the season’s remaining five episodes, including a possible mending of fences between her and Bellamy.

“Octavia’s journey this season is incredible,” Rothenberg adds. “It’s about to go into orbit. It’s crazy what we’re about to see from her. And Bellamy will be there to help as much as he can — as much as she lets him.”

Too bad Bryan and Miller apparently are finished. Are we going to see them together again?

  2. xomar says:

Hopefully Bellamy gets to do more than just act as Octavia’a morality pet.

I was wondering why Octavia has been a filler character for 3 seasons and all of a sudden she lands a role almost as prominent as the lead characters.

Octivia is my clear favorite character by far but there’s a fine line between working through your pain and having a pity party. Let’s hope her journey can at least give her some type of closer and we can all move on. I liked her so much more when she was a fighter. I have the same type of issue with Clarke. I get that she’s struggling with what’s right and what’s wrong and how to do best by these people but there comes a point when your leadership becomes to wishy washy and that’s just annoying.

Honestly The 100 has become so stupid. As for Briller, they were finished because their purpose on the show was only ever as a method of staunching the flow of media backlash so they had an excuse in their eyes to say they are still lgbt friendly…please. The 100 isn’t going to come back from hitting the floor with ratings this time…and I’m fine with that. In the hiatus I watched 13 Reasons Why and relealised this show literally has no hope, I think they are giving it one more season for the sake of tying it off. And plus, if actors like Lindsey and the guy who played Bryan or Miller (no idea) are all looking for new projects now, I think it speaks for itself. I’m also disappointed in Eliza, she always had certain amount of integrity that she wouldn’t just do or say what Jason or anyone wanted to. She is being spoonfed lines to try and save the show and create some sort of intrigue. It isn’t working.

The purpose of the tour should not be to support LGBT, but the most important thing is that the relationship ships are believable. The relationship between Ilian and Octavia is not only irrational, but the contact in the cave was filthy (ridiculous). A Clarke writers should find a new partner, but since the relationship with Lexa writers has underestimated and become important, a character with whom to build a successive quality relationship will have to be found. To be credible to viewers.

      • Max says:

I agree with you but I think it’s too late, the damage is done. Let’s besee honest, even Clarke, the one person we are supposed to root for has become so unlikable. For all involved in the show past and present, this has been a lose lose situation all round. It has just lost it’s sparkle and it shows. With Clarke just having sex with anyone now, neither she as a character nor any other relationship they put her in after 5 mins of having sex with someone else is not credible and the same goes for Raven, Octavia, Bellamy, everyone. It is so overcooked.

I was kind of hoping for Octavia and Rowen to get together!
