TVLine Items: Handmaid's Premiere Date, New Billions Trailer and More

Hulu’s 10-episode adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale — starring Mad Men‘s Elisabeth Moss, Camelot‘s Joseph Fiennes and Chuck‘s Yvonne Strahovski — will make its debut on Wednesday, April 26, the streamer announced on Friday.

Based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel, the series centers on Moss’ Offred, a Handmaid in the Commander’s (Fiennes) household and one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world.

* The Missing Season 2 will premiere Sunday, Feb. 12, at 8/7c on Starz. The eight-part installment introduces a new case, new characters and a new location as a young British woman claims to be the girl who disappeared over a decade ago.

* Netflix has renewed Haters Back Off, based on YouTube personality Colleen Ballinger’s oddball character Miranda Sings, for Season 2, our sister site Deadline reports.

* Freeform has given a series order to the single-cam comedy Alone Together, exec-produced by Andy Samberg’s The Lonely Island. The show follows a platonic male and female best friend duo who want nothing more than to be accepted by the status-obsessed culture.

    After having read Handmaid again for the fall term in grad school (and seeing the weird 1992 movie), I’ll be interested to see how Hulu does it.

    Season one Bobby went to Metallica concert (Bobby is a big fan), this season he wears a Megadeth tea shirt. Will he go to a Megadeth concert this season? Please let it happen…

    For those who are not familiar, the guy who created Megadeth use to play in Metallica, got kicked out and for 20 or so years the two butted heads… just like the guys one the show…

    I’m guessing the creators of the show are fans of both bands and are drawing a comparison…
