Shut Eye Trailer: Jeffrey Donovan's Fake Psychic Has Real Visions in Hulu Drama

Jeffrey Donovan‘s phony psychic has a real sixth sense beat into him in this exclusive new trailer for Hulu’s Shut Eye.

Premiering all 10 episodes on Wednesday, Dec. 7, Shut Eye promises “a darkly comedic look at the world of Los Angeles storefront psychics and the 2,000-year-old history of belief and fraud behind them.”  Burn Notice vet Donovan plays Charlie Haverford, a con-man clairvoyant whose world is rocked by a blow to the head, after which he begins to experience real visions. All the while, Charlie’s enterprising wife Linda (Private Practice‘s KaDee Strickland) is angling to improve upon their mediocre life by breaking away from Fonso (Fargo‘s Angus Sampson), the man who lords over them as the boss of Los Angeles’ psychic scammer empire.

Isabella Rossellini and Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage) co-star on the series, which hails from Les Bohem (Extant) and the executive producers of Breaking Bad.

Why always fake psychics, how about someone that’s a real psychic, that works with law enforcement.

Did you read the article? He starts off as a fake, but starts having real visions.
      .
As for “real psychic that works with law enforcement” – Medium, Dead Zone, Tru Calling sorta, Bones has had one in a couple of episodes and while Hodgins thinks she’s a fake, the show itself doesn’t say one way or another, while leaving the impression that yeah, her gift is real.
      .
The only show I know of with a fake psychic working with cops is Psych (Mentalist doesn’t really count because he doesn’t portray himself as a psychic anymore, and in fact repeatedly says psychics aren’t real and goes out of his way to debunk a couple).

Definitely watching, looks like a good premise with Jeffery Donovan as the star. Also comes out when everything on broadcast will be on hiatus
