Supergirl Spoilers Cyborg Superman

Supergirl EP Shoots Down One Theory About Cyborg Superman's Appearance

The Internet raised its collective eyebrow last week when The CW revealed that Cyborg Superman was on his way to National City, and the theories continue to pile up.

Though specific details of Cyborg Superman’s visit to Supergirl (Nov. 21, 8/7c) are being kept under wraps, TVLine can address one popular fan query: Per executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, “Cyborg Superman is not [being played by] Tyler Hoechlin.”

To be fair, this probably won’t come as a huge shock to savvy DC Comics fans who know that the Cyborg Superman alias has been adopted on paper by two characters: NASA astronaut Hank Henshaw — who has already been established on Supergirl as J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter — and Kara’s father Zor-El.

As for Hoechlin’s eventual return, Kreisberg says, “We’d love to have him back, but right now, we’re still trying to figure out what we’re going to do for the rest of the season. We loved working with him, he’s amazing in the part and we’d be lucky to get him back.”

  1. No one is thinking him we all know its dean cain

  2. kate says:

Aww, that’s too bad. I sort of hoped to see him again (especially because its looking like the first half of Teen Wolf won’t have him). But, based on what was said, I’d guess one of two things, my first thought was the body of the original Hank Henshaw was used by Cadmus or else, we finally find out what they have been doing with Jeremiah Danvers. If I followed this correctly, Mon El will be seeing him first, so it would make more sense that its Hank so he recognizes him. I mean, if he and Kara hang out more (like that she wants to direct his tv watching to try and redirect whatever Winn taught him) he might see a picture of Jeremiah, but I don’t know if it would have the same impact on him.

  3. Jason says:

who thought this in the first place? everyone Ive seen has always thought it would be Dean Cain

  4. Phun says:

Tyler never even crossed my mind as CS. My money is on Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain).

  5. Sebastian says:

When was it said that CS would be coming to Supergirl?

  6. clintbrew says:

it dean cain as cyborg superman

  7. matrix2k3 says:

Fan theories that Tyler Hoechlin would play Cyborg Superman?!? That’s a new one to me. The theories I’ve seen all have former Superman Lois & Clark’s Dean Cain. Which would be an awesome callback similar to John Wesley Shipp playing a different version of The Flash

  8. "A" says:

I’m going with Kara’s real life father Zor-El, like in the comics.

    • I think their going to save him for later consider we just did her Aunt not that long ago

      • yvonne says:

yeah i thought it will be Dean Cain, since his been captured by CADMUS & the article give another option who will be CS..maybe it will be Kara real father become CS (saw his twitter he at the Vancouver and gain to bulk the body)

  9. billk says:

they’ll probably do simalar to what they did with mettalo and have two hank and jeramia

  10. Valkyria says:

Literally no way it isn’t Dean Cain.

  11. Summer says:

Dean Cain, obviously, in a nod to his previous role as Superman.

  12. Mike says:

Well….. Dean Cain said it would take a.lot of money to get him in the tights and cape again, so im sure the CW made it worth his while, no matter who plays him it will be good.

  13. Butch says:

I guess Cadmus is the dumping ground for characters they want to write out of Supergirl and forget about. They haven’t mentioned Kara’s Earth father since last season and now they have sent Mon-el there. Actors must get worried when they hear they are going to Cadmus.

    • Butch says:

Also not sure what the point of having Mon-el on the show was for. Comic relief? Is Kara just going to assume he flaked out and not bother wondering what happened to him? Is she going to get a note or phone call from him saying he will be away for awhile.
