Westworld Episode 2 Released Early in Advance of Presidential Debate

If you were worried you’d have to choose between watching Westworld or the second presidential debate on Oct. 9, you can now rest easy: HBO has made Episode 2 of its well-received sci-fi drama available early.

As of Friday, HBO subscribers can access Sunday’s episode via HBO on Demand, HBO Go and HBO Now. The synopsis for the second hour, entitled “Chestnut,” reads as follows:

A pair of guests, first-timer William and repeat visitor Logan, arrive at Westworld with different expectations and agendas. Bernard and Quality Assurance head Theresa Cullen debate whether a recent host anomaly is contagious. Meanwhile, the Man in Black conscripts a condemned man, Lawrence, to help him uncover Westworld’s deepest secrets.

In addition, the series premieres of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Divorce and Issa Rae’s Insecure, which will air on HBO on Sunday evening, are also available to stream now via the premium cabler’s portals.

Will you be watching Episode 2 of Westworld in advance of the second Trump vs. Clinton showdown?

Yes! Thanks HBO. I’ve been craving more of this show.

I could not get past the 20 minute mark of the first episode of Westworld. Not going back. Just so tired of the amount of violence being portrayed on TV.

Great! I loved the first episode!

  5. DRG says:

After this second episode, I’m done. I was willing to suspend disbelief and give Westworld the benefit of the doubt, but having the medical folks “forget” to verify the host was in the “sleep mode” is just too much.

It seems that you missed her talk with the other prostitute, just before this scene, where she explains that she can wake herself up out of sleep mode when she has a nightmares.

So suspension of belief wasn’t necessarily required where the docs “forget” to put her to sleep. It’s that they didn’t expect her to be able to wake up.

Silly dilemma, as this a nonissue in the age of DVR. Moreover, even if you don’t own one HBO has so many repeat airings on its multitude of channels.
