Fall TV Preview

Salem Season 3 Promo Promises a 'Wild and Unpredictable' Ride

You may think you know Salem, but take it from executive producer Adam Simon: “You don’t know Salem.”

In an eye-popping video dropped Wednesday by WGN America ahead of New York Comic-Con, fellow EP Brannon Braga promises that Season 3 (kicking off on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 9/8c) will be “as wild and unpredictable as the first two.”

However, with the devil raising hell on earth — and inhabiting the body of Mary and John’s son — the stakes are higher than ever before. “The only person that can destroy the boy is” his mother, Braga says, “and when we begin the season, of course, she’s dead.”

Further complicating matters for the thriller’s witches is the fact that the season adds to the mix Marilyn Manson as Thomas Dinley, whom his portrayer describes in the clip as falling “somewhere between a really bad hair stylist and someone who cuts people up for fun to see what’s in them.”

Also included in the video is Shane West revealing the season’s “completely different” John, Ashley Madekwe discussing Tituba’s new role, and Tazmin Merchant suggesting a key difference between her Anne and Janet Montgomery’s Mary.
