Game of Thrones: Kristin Chenoweth Debuts Operatic New Theme Song

Kristin Chenoweth has combined two of her favorite things: vocal warm-ups and Game of Thrones.

The Pushing Daisies alum appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday, where she belted out the Emmy-winning drama’s orchestral theme song with the help of a sword made of “Valyrian root steel.” The performance was inspired by a recent video Chenoweth posted to social media (as seen below), which found her warming up for a concert by singing along to a stripped down version of the iconic arrangement.

Chenoweth can next be seen as villainous producer Velma Von Tussle in NBC’s Hairspray Live! (premiering Wednesday, Dec. 7). She will also reunite with Daisies creator Bryan Fuller on Starz’s forthcoming American Gods.

Press PLAY on the video above to watch Chenoweth sing along to the GoT theme song, then answer the following question: Should HBO just go ahead and add her vocals to Season 7’s opening title sequence?

Very operatic. Maybe a whole opera could be done around GoT. It would actually work well.

That was amazing and yes, it should be featured in the 7th season opening theme (with proper edit or whatever they call it).

Meant to write my own post but taking opportunity to reply that a whole opera featuring the GoT-verse would be spot-on.
