Supergirl: Dichen Lachman Hits Jackpot, Joins Season 2 as Roulette

Supergirl is wagering that Dichen Lachman can bring DC Comics baddie Roulette to life (a pretty safe bet, if you ask us).

The now-CW drama has cast the sci-fi staple (The 100, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Dollhouse) to join Season 2 as the gamblin’ supervillain, who, according to ComicBook.com, runs an underground alien fight club in National City and is eager to get Supergirl in the ring. She will appear in one episode, this season’s fourth.

rouletteLachman joins a loooong list of special guest stars set to grace Supergirl Season 2 as it transitions from CBS to The CW. Other key hires include Tyler Hoechlin as SupermanCougar Town alum Ian Gomez as Kara’s new supervisor, Snapper Carr; Katie McGrath (Merlin) as Lena Luthor; Floriana Lima (The Family) as Science Crimes captain Maggie Sawyer; Containment‘s Chris Wood as Mon-El (aka the mystery pod’s passenger); and Frederick Schmidt as John Corben aka Metallo.

Supergirl Season 2 premieres Monday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c, leading into Jane the Virgin.

  1. Mike says:

I always thought Roulette would be a great character to bring on to Arrow, but I guess since Supergirl is now on the CW they may exist in the same universe. I’ve heard the crossover this fall will merge Supergirl’s world with Flash and Arrow. I have not watched Supergirl, so does anyone know if there has been any redundancy in characters from the Arrowverse and Supergirl?

    • Writerpatrick says:

They’re probably picking her because she’s a female villain and they’ve been trying to get mainly female villains on Supergirl. But with so many characters crossing over now between the shows it’s possible she could also pop up on Arrow.

      • DJ Doena says:

Sometimes I just think they overdo it. For example, why did Dr. Hamilton and Brainiac have to be female? The story would not have to change at all for them to keep their original gender.

        • Mike says:

Brainiac 8/Indigo, the version that that version of Brainiac was based off of, was always female. She appeared back in 2003.

        • Summer says:

Plus, considering that in the comics Kara has a relationship with Brainiac-5 – another one of Brainiac’s descendants – they may have wanted to wait before introducing a male Brainiac down the line.

          • DJ Doena says:

There’s no such thing as a “male Brainiac”. It’s a machine.

But I do concede that I did not know that “Indigo” existed before the show. I only knew the versions from the animated show and Smallville.

    • Wordsmith says:

The joy of the DC multiverse is that there could totally be an alternate version of her who pops up on one of the other shows.

  2. NewBeginnings16 says:

Although not mentioned in your article, I loved her as Jesse on “The Last Ship” so I’m happy to hear she’ll be joining “Supergirl” as Roulette.

  3. DJ Doena says:

Maybe she can ask Lois to enter like back in the Smallville days. ;-)

  4. Phun says:

I liked her on Agents of SHIELD. Looking forward to her as Roulette.

BTW, you forgot to mention Katie Mcgrath as Lena Luthor on the list of guest stars/ key hires for Season 2.

  5. Rahajicho says:

But she’ll returning for a multiepisode arch in season three or in one of the other shows, right?

  6. Joey Padron says:

Good casting for the character. She’s a great actress. Looking forward to see her on the show.

  7. Sonny Crockett says:

She was GREAT on The Last Ship,,,,
