Katie Stevens Issues Cast

Faking It's Katie Stevens to Lead Freeform Drama Pilot Issues

Three months after the untimely cancellation of MTV’s Faking It, star Katie Stevens is rebounding with a lead role on Freeform’s Issues, a drama pilot about the cutthroat world of magazine publishing in New York City.

Inspired by the life of Joanna Coles, the editor in chief of Cosmopolitan, Issues takes place at Scarlet magazine, where Stevens’ Jane was just hired to her dream position. She and her co-workers — social media director Kat (Chasing Life‘s Aisha Dee) and harrowed assistant Sutton (Political Animals‘ Meghann Fahy) — unite under Jacqueline (Transparent‘s Melora Hardin), the intimidating EIC of Scarlet.

Additional characters include Richard (Mad Men‘s Sam Page), a sophisticated gentleman who works as the magazine’s legal counsel, and Alex (Remedy‘s Matt Ward, a young writer with a crush on Jane.

Production is currently underway in Toronto.

Yesss! Love her (and Aisha Dee) so will definitely check this out, even though the premise doesn’t grab me.

Reeks of an attempt at Jane by Design 2.0

      • Eric J says:

I completely agree! The second I read the characters name was Jane I had the same thought. If they hadn’t named the protagonist (aka the lead) Jane then I wouldn’t be so mad about it yeah I would still know it was a redo of JBD but I’d move on just to watch a new show on FREEFORM

  2. Amit says:

I don’t know. Name aside, this doesn’t have that I’m-juggling-two-lives-and-lying-about-my-age vibe that JBD had.

  3. Les says:

    yes I will watch it.
