Inside Amy Schumer Season 5

Amy Schumer: Inside Amy Schumer 'Not Cancelled' Just on Hiatus for 'Foreseeable Future'

Amy Schumer is setting the record straight about the future of her Comedy Central series Inside Amy Schumer.

Roughly 12 hours after the comedienne sent Twitter into a frenzy by suggesting her Emmy-winning show was done, Schumer took to Twitter again to clarify the situation. The gist: Inside Amy Schumer is not dead, just… in a temporary coma?

The cancellation buzz ignited late Wednesday when Schumer — responding to a swirling controversy stemming from comments made by her friend and onetime Inside Amy Schumer writer Kurt Metzger — posted on Twitter, “I didn’t fire Kurt. He isn’t a writer for my show because we aren’t making the show anymore. There are no writers for it.”

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. Debbie W says:

The tweet saying ” because we aren’t making the show anymore” is still up, yet people are replying to her clarifying tweet like she wasn’t the one who started the controversy in the first place by saying the show has ended. They are blaming the press for starting it. Amazing.

  2. Anne says:

It’s too bad she didn’t fire Kurt. He’s a trash fire of human garbage. I don’t know how anyone who calls herself a feminist (Schumer) can ethically continue to employ Kurt.

  3. Lauren says:

Well she started the rumour so it’s good she cleared it up.

  4. Luis says:

Translation – “I made a successful movie, so why the f- would I want to be wasting my time on Comedy F-ing Central anymore?”

  5. Michael Summerset says:

It’s cancelled, but the network doesn’t want people to know that yet for fear they’ll stop watching.

    • Patrick says:

No, CC is hoping she’ll do the show again, someday. They don’t care when. I doubt it ever comes back, but all it takes is a few failed movies for that steady paycheck from Comedy Central to start looking awfully good.

  6. Gregory House. says:

It’s a wise choice on her part.
Takes time to steal other people’s jokes, so it’s best that she’s taking time off to hone her grifting skills.

  7. Larc says:

    Not canceled, just permanent hiatus.

  8. Will says:

    Good riddance.

Season 4 was painfully unfunny (I mean, it had it’s moments but overall compared to S1-3 it doesn’t hold up). Ever since she’s blown up with the success of Trainwreck, does anyone else notice she’s ALWAYS in the news for some issue/controversy/etc? Whether she’s arguing with a man on the street (presumably justified), to complaining about that magazine using her in a plus sized issue, etc she just seems to be way overexposed and always involved in drama. I liked her a lot for a while but finding her intolerable these days.
