When are we going to get Jessica Jones season 2?

    • One says:

It films right after The Defenders

      • Jamed says:

But if Defenders isn’t coming out before Fall 2017, that means Jessica Jones Season 2 is coming until 2018? That’s too far away for a series that premiered on 2015.

        • peterwdawson says:

Marvel’s basically contracted to only do two seasons of their shows a year. I think there’s more reasons than just contracts (probably production limitations), but basically the idea was they’d put out 4 shows before 2017 with Defenders then airing in 2017. Because they did Daredevil Season 2 when they did they had to rush Defenders, meaning if some other show in the rotation was considered worthy of having a second season so quickly it would have to wait a while. Basic rule though, until Defenders is done, is only 2 a year, thus we got DD Season 2 this year and Luke Cage. Next year we need Iron Fist for the Defenders thus they can’t fit Jessica Jones in until 2018.

          • Jamed says:

Thanks for the explanation! It’s sad, though. Jessica Jones was such a different experience yet so complex that I want to see more. I saw Daredevil season 1 and thought it was ok, but I haven’t been able to finish season 2… I found it a little boring to be honest. Hope Luke Cage also has Jessica cameos at least!

          • peterwdawson says:

I genuinely think Daredevil’s a better show but Jessica Jones absolutely offers a hell of an experience. Some will vary of course but a big issue for me was the character of Will Simpson: I really didn’t like how he was handled (plus it got really weird when his girlfriend of sorts kept calling him by his last name), but on the other hand if it wasn’t for him the season would have been 100% Kilgrave all the time. Compare this with Daredevil where, yes, Fisk was the main villain in Season 1, but the Crime Bros helped pepper the season with a bunch of memorable smaller foes, their presence even felt come Season 2. A lot of really bad judgment on the part of some characters too. Still I mean Kilgrave was a phenomenal villain and the greater story of Jessica Jones worked really well as an extended simile for what sexual assault victims actually feel, plus the general quirky nature of the characters and such. Both shows are fantastic.

  7. Joey Padron says:

The trailer for Luke Cage looks good. Good sizzle reel of marvel shows on Netflix.

  8. ScottJ says:

So the Defenders logo is the same as the one used for the comic book. What a surprise.

  9. Anna says:

FINALLY. That took way too long.

I just watched daredevil season one episode one and two, and put simply, it is the most intelligent, real, and entertaining superhero thing I have seen bar none. Even the fight scenes kick ass; especially for a series!
I like Ben Aflak, but frankly, the daredevil movie in which he starred was so stupid it was barely watchable. This Netflix series, the two episodes I have seen of it anyway, are far and away the best take on any hero story I have seen thus far including the movies! I hope it stays this good all the way through.
