Originals Christina Moses

The Originals Season 4: Containment Actress Cast as Bisexual Werewolf

Containment‘s Christina Moses has caught the CW bug.

Fresh from her one-season run on the network’s contagion thriller, the actress is jumping to The Originals in a recurring role, Deadline reports. (Both shows are EP’d by Julie Plec. so we’re guessing the two of them hit it off during their time on Containment).

Moses’ character, Keelin, is a smart, strong resourceful ER doctor – and the last living werewolf of her line. She’s also openly bisexual. After the rest of her family was hunted to extinction, she went into hiding and since then she’s deliberately avoided getting too close to anyone. She lives in fear of being discovered by the wrong people and has no idea that she’s currently on a collision course with the Mikaelsons.

Moses will debut early into The Originals‘ fourth season, which is being held until midseason.

Speaking of Containment alums/Plec faves, Moses’ co-star, Kristen Gutoskie, has booked a recurring gig on The Originals‘ sister show The Vampire Diaries. She’ll play Seline, a warm, nurturing nanny of two young kids by day, and a small-town girl trying to find her place in a dangerous world by night. Bonded to her new “family” in ways she can’t explain, Seline will fight desperately to protect the ones she loves. She’ll first appear in TVD‘s Season 8 premiere on Friday, Oct. 21 8/7c).

So, it sounds like Alaric is going to get a new love interest, huh?

    • Wordsmith says:

Unless he’s planning on switching shows, probably not.

    • Wordsmith says:

Oh, you obviously meant that second bit at the end. Yeah, that could be right. Then again, maybe there could be a female TVD character introduced without being obligated to participate in a romantic subplot. Ha, jk.

      • Lex says:

Doubtful! TO is even worse than TVD about treating female characters as LI’s before actually fully fleshed out individuals. I’m betting we’re in for a Elijah/Hayley/new bi wolf girl triangle. Or it’s always possibly they’re going to attempt to make her Klaus’ latest epic love. Doubt it would work though.

        • Bwhit says:

I don’t think they would go there given that we have pretty much spent the greater part of a season and a half with an Elijah/Hayley love triangle. I’m guessing if this character stays and doesn’t disappear into the abyss like Will did for many stretches at a time, once they figure out how to cure the family Freya might be a candidate…. She’s never really gotten a love interest. Or she isn’t a love interest for any of them.

          • Lex says:

True, but that’s kind of how they play ships, isn’t it? Just throwing random obstacles in the way. They might have a shortened season but there’s no way they’re going straight to Hayley and Elijah being happy. But Freya is a decent guess too. I think there’s zero chance that she won’t be a love interest of some kind. Why mention her sexuality so prominently if that were the case?

  2. Bwhit says:

Sounds like the first key Hayley may use to get the cure for Elijah and Kol. If she’s the last in her line, maybe her blood is an ingredient needed.

    • Wordsmith says:

That sounds plausible. Lucien’s super-venom was a combination of all of the werewolf lines, so it stands to reason that Hayley will be seeking out a lot of wolves, including Keelin.

  3. Shaun says:

Good for both, whee!CW sure takes care of their actors.Think most do about 3 shows after they leave.

  4. liame says:

Loved Christina on Containment and I’m looking forward to seeing her performance on The Original’s.

  5. Dizzle says:

So is Seline a secret Gemini witch mayhaps… I mean clearly she’s a nanny for Alaric’s kids, right?

  6. Allie says:

Really? I mean….no offense, but really? There is actually a demographic that wants to see a bisexual werewolf? I’m all for the LGBT folks, but this sounds like a bad SNL sketch.

    • Edyn says:

I agree. It seems every network is throwing a LGBTcharacter into their show. We watch mostly syfy and when warehouse 13 brought in their gay character, hubby said he is not watching it anymore and it was the last season. My husband gets pissy when he sees that because it is getting to be too much now. He did not see the new star trek movies because the new Spock came out. If Zachary did not come out, things would have been fine. The only one that was OK with him was Lost Girl because of the concept. A succubus that feeds off anyone to heal herself despite being gender.

  7. Vie says:

Klaus returning to his wicked self ???!!!! …. I don’t like that. I will ruin his relationship with hope and his siblings. Please Micheal Narducci make his a better self like he was in season 3 considerate, understanding and loving yet brutal towards only those who would harm his family. If he becomes his wicked self he will be brutal towards his family too and can;t see a good relationship blooming between hope and klaus. Don’t want another michael – in – making

    • Bwhit says:

I didn’t see where it said that in the article. He may be more brutal to his enemies especially those aligned with Marcel because he’s spent an extended amount being tortured from within and forced to be away from his daughter. But I don’t see him being that way towards his family, especially Hope.

  8. Ron says:

I’ve noticed…. And don’t get all hopping mad, that virtually every hit tv show in the past year or two has gone out of their way to promote some type of lgbt character/relationship. Not prejudice by any means, but really? I don’t feel there’s a basis besides political correctness for putting so much emphasis on the fact that “this new character is going to be bisexual!” That being said, I can’t for the new season, and a possible wrapping up of this story!

  9. Valerie Mendez says:

LEX, I DON’T THINK THE WRITERS GOING TO GIVE KLAUS A NEW LOVE INTEREST, BESIDES IT’S GOING TO BE HIM KICKING AND GETTING REVENGE ON ALL HIS ENEMIES.

  10. chantall says:

klaus will probably want to re-connect with his daughter, and they said bi-sexaul so im thinking freya.

  11. Wow, you guys were really wrong about Selene.
